I think What would have been a better story route if httyd 3 would have had a dragon cult based on protecting the night furies and the hidden world a secret which hiccup and toothless would happen to stumble upon, teaching hiccup more of toothless cind because the shows and second movie have teased us with more of toothless kind but sadly we never saw another night fury. Despite the 3rd movie ending from the other movies to show dragons are apart of their world and them sending The dragons away doesn't change that people will still kill and hunt them and there will be no way to stop them if there separated.

I wish they could've used an night fury that was named Nightshade as Toothless's mate because Nightshade is a night fury but with blue colors and light blue eyes and she has this cool looking collar on her neck. I think it was just a fan comic that had Nightshade that I read years ago, so.. that could be why they didn't have Nightshade in the 3rd movie as Toothless's mate.. I need to find that comic and re-read it, it's been years since I last read it.

Honestly I don’t really get it when people ship mk and red son cause I see DBK and wukong as brothers so I just see them as cousins but I get why people enjoy the ship

I initially liked HTTYD 3, not as much as 1 and 2, but it wasn’t bad. But it always felt off to me. The animation was pretty, but the little details were gone (Hiccup’s freckles, Toothless’ scars/scales). And don’t get me started on how they slaughtered the characters and any development they had going to 💩. Then I learned about a bunch of crap decisions the developers of the film made, and what we could’ve had, and grew to really dislike the film. It left much to be desired… But yes, music is 10/10! John Powell always makes good stuff!

I felt the whole point and message of the dragons and berk is that they're stronger united hiccup and toothless bond was like no other both were incomplete without each other two halfs of one whole. Grimmel isn't a bad villain he's just not a massive threat compared to drogo bludvist who had armies and a giant dragon that could control hundreds of other dragons at will. Toothless possibly being the first dragon to resist the bewilderbeast show how strong his bond with hiccup truly is proving that dragons and berk can accomplish anything together if united. The dragons leaving in httyd 3 felt just unnecessary to me and takes away the core message of the other two films.

I think they could’ve made at least another great trilogy. For one thing there no way Verk could’ve beaten Dragos Alliance or whatever they’re called. It’s clear the “Alliance “ influence was global and they were vastly larger than Berk not to mention they have canon. Thing 2: sequel could’ve been the war against the alliance and Berk gets help from allies from the shows

another problem I have with the light fury is beside that her design is so extremely feminine that she has no scars, scratches or something like that she was caught by dragon hunters and I dont think they would be gentle with such a deadly dragon. Her completely body is perfect with nothing that would give a clue that she was caught by dragon hunters. Toothless have some scars and I absoluty love it ! He got some from the first movie from hiccup and some in the second movie from drago because drago isnt obviously gentle with dragons. In the second movie are so many examples that dragon hunters arent gentle and nice to dragons. Also her character isnt great. There isnt an exactly backstory why she is how she acts and then in the movie is a random flip where she trustes hiccup like wtf She is so unimportant for the movie that she also dont have a name ! Also I dont like how the twins act after the Race to the edge. They were in rtte so god damn well wrote like that they just kinda act dumb but are in some thing very intelligent. In this movie they dumb as hell and dont show they naturally character imo. Also snotlout is just dissapointing. He got so much character development in rtte and got his good and bad side and here , he is just awkward and simps for hiccups mom. Also in fight he is stupid and have no idea what he was doing. Fishlegs is fine but he got a bit forgotten in this movie and is just a babysitter. He could atleast give some advice to hiccup about the light fury or could be more hyped about the lightfury And i just hate the ending because it just makes no sense. Im just dissapointed about this movie. It have some good stuff but its more negative.

I rarely ship any characters in the show, but in LMK, I just can't think that Red Son and Mei are anything but a couple. For most other ships I think its more like siblings reletionship, like with Mei and MK and Red son, they all are like siblings that hate/love each other. Same goes to Wu kong and Maqaque are siblings that are ready to kill each other over the last piece of ckookie. Also, I absolutely love ship names in the fandom, they are so fun

I strongly disagree!..... Not about the movie being bad it's terrible , I'm actually talking about the fact that hiccup didn't have any character development from the second movie to the 3rd. He did have character development actually just the worst kind of character development and then my personal opinion that's why the movie ended up the way it did let's talk in the sense as if we're talking about the characters and not the writers who made the characters In the second movie hiccup learned to prioritize his own people "a chief protects his own" this is kind of the whole problem with the third movie because hiccup took that saying and ran with it also I think his mother was a large contributor to the way hiccup was thinking in the third movie. Because if you remember in the second movie valka believed people were incapable of change and Hiccup pretty suddenly in the third movie kind of has the same conclusion by the end of the movie weird almost like his mother put that thought into his head.

I hate how Toothless’ and Hiccups friendship in the 3rd movie is framed negatively, and toxic, and has a power imbalance when it’s literally never been like that at all? Hiccup and Toothless help *each other* out, not just one helps the other out while the other takes advantage of that. I mean look at that one moment in the Christmas special where Hiccup slips on the ice. Honestly they shouldn’t have gone with the ending from the books, as the books and the movies are so incredibly different.

My biggest gripe was the light fury and how little sense it makes as a creature in the interest of 'well we needed it to look like a girl, it can't be cool or make sense!'. The light fury is supposed to be a fury that lives in the Hidden World, a gigantic cave system, and yet is designed like a sea bird. Her wings are much too long and thin for the more precise flying necessary in caverns; her wings would be much, much shorter and wider like a harpy eagle for maneuverability while sacrificing speed. The whiskers on her head should be longer, not tiny nubs for aerodynamics, to detect air movement and how close she is to the walls (like a cat's whiskers or the fur on a bat's face and wings). She's also the wrong color! While, yes, white creatures exist in caves, but only in areas with no visible light where skin pigmentation isn't worth it. And if she was supposed to live in those areas, she'd also likely not have eyes so it's not a good argument. She'd probably be closer to stone in color, a medium-dark shade of gray or blue as to help blend in. Or even close to the red and purple stones we see in one area of the Hidden World. Finally, her legs are too long due to being 'feminine', and if anything she'd be even more stout and lizardy than Toothless in the interest of climbing on and over rock. Sorry for the rant; this movie made me really mad when I watched it, especially when I saw the early concept art for the light fury (look it up if you haven't seen it, it looks so much cooler)...

Characters like Wukong, Macaque, lbd and even red son are thosands of years older than him atleast. It's gross, disgusting and should be sent to prison.

In my little headcanon I ship Red Son with Yellow Wind Demon, both had samadhi powers and it can be a good parallel to his parents relationship. A human like being with more beast kind of being. Also Yellow Wind could help Red Son with his powers and bring his confidence up.

I always thought instead of a love interest for Toothless, the movie should've introduced a juvenile night fury, as well as skipping enough time to focus on the heroes of the first two films as parents, passing the torch onto the next generation. Maybe Hiccup struggles to find a balance between his own father's strict disciplinarianism and a more lax approach to raising his children, with Astrid swooping in to be a hardass when necessary. Furthermore, Berk controls the skies, which should render them a virtually uncontested political superpower in their region of the world. I see the core conflict of the film being that dragons everywhere are being exploited, but Berk is divided between peaceful isolationism and aggressive interventionism, with the decisions made there and then potentially charting Berk's course for generations. Ultimately, I think the core theme of the third film should've been legacy, and the world we leave behind for our children. It would close out the coming of age story the first two films set up, and turn the franchise into a generational story, with new heroes taking up the mantle and heeding the call to adventure. Something akin to what the Star Wars Expanded Universe did with their New Jedi Order book series.

I may be 5 months late but its FINNEE, but for Tripitaka x Wukong, datiny actually goes against being a monk. So during the JTTW tripitaka is forced into marriage/S3x situations which ends up as akward since he is unable of doing so.

This works so well for them. Cuz with Simon and Betty, Betty was the one who thought of Simon as everything, while Simon only thought of her as an experience. But then at the end, they realized it was the opposite, hence this famous line. So it works so well cuz as we know, to Macaque, Wukong was everything, and to Wukong, Macaque was just an experience. So it's nice that after Wukong killed him, he realized just how much Macaque sacrificed for him.

They are making a live action remake If the 3rd film wans't bad enough

I noticed that toothless design in the third movie is extremely different from how he looked in the first movie. His head is more square, whereas in the first movie, he had more of a oval, flatter head more like a salamander. I honestly don’t understand their design choices for the third movie like making the characters faces have no flaws no freckles like how they did in the first movie, etc. The third movie isn’t the worst thing ever and like you said it has nice music And visuals but when the story sucks that can’t even save it…
