I gotta say, this was pretty comprehensive for such a short video. It’s been a while since I’ve felt good about the results from a drawing study video, so thanks and keep up the good work!

Gahhhh, this is still too deeply complicated. I can't even seem to get started off very well. I try to position the arm outstretched and sometimes I want to bend it, (or reposition in a comic) but it just gets super awkward and wonky. Like even without any muscle detail on a rough outline sketch. I know the elbow is a rotating joint, but treating it as such doesn't seem to help. After making the forearm look ok after 40 mins of erasing and redrawing, then the arm looks too long; I can't / don't want to reduce the bicep because it already looks fine; then it's another 40 mins of erasing and redrawing to get it too short. I've been drawing for over a decade and my brain still refuses to simplify structure in a manner I can manipulate and I can't conceptualize detailed imagery in my head so I'm left with randomly drawing and redrawing for hours to get a basic sketch shape. So every time I draw something it's either adjusted tracing over references (and even that still takes time), tracing over my old work, or combining them, but usually I'm having to redraw something almost from scratch every single time like I'm re-learning.

ive been struggling with creating a personal project (that doesnt involve too much writing), let alone a project for a portfolio, so this video is a gem! ive also been feeling this sense of insecurity since i find that i have no interest in sci fi or well most animated media that has anything to do with magic or machines or that kinda stuff (in other words, the action genre and practically everything it encompasses😭), so i feel stuck….but its reassuring to hear that i shld stick with what i love, and that it not only benefits me but my art and how ppl perceive my art as well ! so thank u 🔥🔥

I’ve just now really started to learn anatomy, and I ran into your videos. I honestly think they’re very helpful, and I’m doing a lot better at understanding anatomy. I learn at a much slower pace, and this is the right pace for me. So thank you for making these tutorials; they’re very helpful!!

i dont remember what i was referring to in the video, its been a while, but i can give u a quick rundown of my studies: 1. studied at my local college for video game design(it was good to introduce me to concept art, but mostly a waste of time and money 2. brainstorm school(my best investment, and very recommended if you're looking to get serious with studying art. any online school that allows you to pick what you study will do. just a superior option compared to institutions imo.) 3. personal studies and practice, utilizing free online resources and yt channels(ahmed aldoori, sinix, moderndayjames, etc) also, i was ass when i started. maybe ill make a video one day showing how bad i was lol

Man this video has helped solve a major issue I've had with eyes since forever and that is separating the planes of the upper and lower eyelids from the actual roundness of the eyeball itself (I.E when drawing a 3/4 view of an eye) would you ever consider making a video on noses/mouths or hair? I'm at the stage in my art journey where I struggle with those the most.
@13zackariah10 ай бұрын
im glad it helped you man. i'm not sure i'll be making any tutorials like that any time soon, but i'd recommend checking out Sinix Design on youtube. my content is inspired by his, and he has a large plethora of tutorials that he teaches(including noses, mouths, and hair) :)

Humans use arms for everything. I think it’s one of the more important things to learn to draw when learning anatomy just because of how expressive arms are.
