great filming not sure i would like to be that close to a king cobra 🤣🤣

Thank you for your comment. Resident king cobra is not threatened, seen by its posture. Meanwhile there are many more people at my side with mobile phone and pushing closer.

Great to know you have seen newts in UK. The Hong Kong newt is unique to HK , and classified as near threatened.

Oh, by the way, I found out that this bird is migratory in East Africa and South Asia. It is also a resident breeder in Africa and Australasia. So, in other words, it’s spending its winter in Singapore 🇸🇬 (SE Asia) …hmmmm….interesting…🤔
@BirdwatchTraveller22 күн бұрын
Good that you have found this information. Singapore is often wintering location during migration season. Many exciting birds are found during this season.

May I please know why this bird is in Singapore 🇸🇬 ? According to WIKIPEDIA, the Baillon’s Crake used to breed in Great Britain 🇬🇧 up to the mid-19th century, but the Western European population declined through drainage. This bird species is also a resident breeder in Africa and Australasia. There is a single North American record of this species on Attu Island in September 2000.
@BirdwatchTraveller22 күн бұрын
That is a good discussion point. In Wikipedia, there is this map that shows breeding, non-breeding and resident locations. Singapore is in the non-breeding location. Not a common Singapore visitor, so this is indeed an exciting find. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baillon%27s_crake#/media/File:PorzanaPusillaIUCN2019_2.png

So cute! Similar to our New Zealand Piwakawaka Fantail which looks smaller and rounder. They have such great personalities and love to dart and weave around you and perform shows in front of you. I just love them!
