That's actually from an old song from the 50s or 40s maybe even older I can't remember the name of it right now maybe and then maybe Fred Neil but

You’re right, Fred Neil wrote and recorded in 1966. I thought it was written by Harry Nilsson for the movie Midnight Cowboy. Thanks for the info, great song!

An interesting soundtrack album . The movie is quirky , off beat and interesting. Jimmy B and band have a cameo as , believe it or not , the bar band . Good stuff .
