It's actually kind of scary that you can give mice and therefore probably also humans this injectable toxin CdtB that causes IBS/SIBO.

So if you're fat and have Sibo just lose the weight? I have suffered with high methane Sibo for 25 to 30 years and I can not afford to get treated since most Gi's don't know how to treat Sibo and you need to do more for the average people that can not afford treatment the 3k medication for Sibo it is impossible for many to get. I took Accutane and after that my digestion was ruined along with my gallbladder and my whole life ruined by Sibo.

Same here, life ruined by sibo/mcas/cirs/mold. I think I originally got sibo because I was deficient in copper, it has helped more than xifaxan or any of the 30+ different herbals I've tried. I've had hydrogen tho. Is it the Xifaxan you're having trouble finding? I got some here: mmm.buy-pharma.md/RIFAXIMIN-p-1496.html, just change the mmm to www. It was like 150$

I do like Pimentel but his research is going too slow due to funding from our institutions. Also China and Japan researchers already have most of these findings and have for years. They are way ahead of us in microbiome research and have cures for most of these issues. Pimentel' team should seek public funding from the american public, many researchers do this, and conduct studies simultaneously based on various theories to flush out what will work and get real solutions to suffering public. These studies are taking way too long and costing people suffering too much money. Time to be resourceful.

To the viewers: don't forget that the effect of artificial sweeteners on the human microbiome is a rather young field of research with more unknowns than knowns. So while this topic is surely interesting to the general public, you'll probably have to wait at least a decade for any somewhat reliable information. It is far too early to derive dietary advice from this or other studies other than what's common sense: not consuming them is safer than consuming them. But it is still overwhelmingly clear that artificial sweeteners are less harmful than sugar.
@WeighedWilson
@WeighedWilson Жыл бұрын
I don't think there is enough data to suggest that artificial sweeteners are more (or less) harmful than moderate sugar consumption. It's the dose that makes the poison. I am disappointed that the sweeteners don't seem to have been thoroughly tested before approval for use in food.

I have battled methane and hydrogen SIBO for yrs with chronic constipation. I have to treat myself with herbals bc most drs have no clue about SIBO or treating it. My dr gave me rifaximin only bc I told him I tested positive at home but I didn’t take it bc I didn’t feel it would be enough to treat. If we treat with RX drugs, won’t SIBO come back bc we have no idea how we all got into this mess in the 1st place? Is it dairy, wheat, grains, gmo? Who knows. I feel like I’m in a losing battle here, it’s so sad

Dr we APPRECIATE your work! We must find the link between imo,pcos,estrogen dominance,herpes simplex,hashimoto’s, and lower heart rate (except when I take ginger!) I wish I understood why that happens! I take it for constipation and sometimes it works and sometimes not. I’d like to know why? I have all of these symptoms and am finding out that many others with imo do as well. Any info on this? I have found little. Since imo is genetic maybe the missing link is in those who were bottle fed vs breast fed?

An overgrowth of methanogens in the gut can suppress motility and create constipation. But absorbed methane can also inhibit bladder function creating urinary symptoms.

Yes it can! If it’s methane, when you are limit your food the archea are getting less to eat too thus lowering your symptoms. It also helps your mmc. He talks about this in several videos.

If you don’t travel outside of the country, but you still get food poisoning more than a normal person, how do you take steps to prevent yourself from getting food poisoning? I only got food poisoning once from eating out once, total five times. My first time I was late 40s seems after that I was prone to nausea and getting it again.

Does anyone ever recover from SIBO after the prescribed antibiotics? I developed post infectious IBS-M after cdiff six years ago. My eating is so restricted; no gluten, hardly any fruit, minimal vegetables, no nuts (except for PB). I can eat dairy though...thank God! At least I can now function but am wondering if I have SIBO. Sitting here on my couch listening to my stomach churn after dinner. This always happens and I haven't given it much thought.

I've done in depth research and I have ibs (recently diagnosed) myself and I traced back to stress..when your're stressed for a prolonged period your body breaks down from the inside but when you stop stressing that's when the inflammation and symptoms start so therefore you don't panic from it but accept it and relax. Healing is happening and the more relaxed and calm you're the faster ibs, ibd will subside, it usually takes about a year but you will heal. Take it from me guys, I've healed from bipolar and benzodiazepine withdrawal and that's no easy task and those r diseases from the mind but so is ibs.

I ve lived with IBS constipation for 25 years, I recently tested positive for Sibo, both methane and hydrogen. My Doctor didn't know what SIBO was and refused to give me Rifaximin and Neomycin. He also told me there no test for IBS. He was happy to give costly colonoscopy test which came back normal!!!! When will the rest of the World catch up? When will our Doctors get training.
