PD does not work with A7rV. Ive tried countless times. Utterly impossible, just ended up with yards worth of broken floss and string. This thing is simply going in the garbage

This worked on my Sony A7R3 but does not on my Sony A1. I even tried braided fishing line which is super strong and thin, the anchor rope is simply too thick to make it through the eyelets. Would be really nice if PD made anchors that would fit through or another design, many one that only needed one side of the rope passed through. This really ruins the beauty of the PD system for me on newer sony cameras.

I believe the newer Alpha series cameras have slightly smaller eyelets, which causes this. I've just managed to get the thick PD anchors through the eyelets on my A7IV by 'pre-crushing' the anchor's loop with a pair of pliers, just to flatten it out as much as possible before attempting to thread it through. Then, carry on as he does in the video by threading the floss or fishing line (I managed to get it done with some floss eventually) through, but don't just pull it. You need to apply a constant pulling pressure on one side (not enough pressure to tear the floss, about 20% less pressure than that) and keep turning the anchor clockwise/anticlockwise about 90 degrees each way repeatedly to help ease the anchor through. After a minute or so of doing this, you'll have pulled through enough of the anchor that there will be 3-4mm protruding from the other side. Use some pliers to carefully grab it (don't grip them firmly enough to fray the anchor's insulation) and use the same constant pulling and twisting motion with the pliers, and you'll be able to pull enough through that you can then loop something through it (a screwdriver or Allen key) and finally pull it through. It's very difficult and I think it's inevitable that you WILL damage the anchors to an extent (both of mine are showing a small amount of yellow) but they appear to be sturdy and I found the whole ordeal to be worth it. Good luck

I just sent a claim today. Mine was bought last 2020 and I love it. The issue I had was the zipper as well but on the quick access part at the side Hopefully they'll replace mine.

Thanks for the video. Our son absolutely loves using his walker and we started him on a balance bike that has four wheels the smaller ones. Going to try your idea of adding the pull to the bigger one we’re getting tomorrow.

For anybody with the a7 IV the string is way too big for the small holes where the metal strap rings would normally go, you will have to put it on to the metal strap rings

Great, but do you think this could cause damage to the camera? With the pressure being so tight on the edge of the body?

Yo! I had to come back after a day to say thank you for this man! This is the only method that worked. I tried everything else. I almost gave up and believed i needed to use the annoying sony triangle. I have the A6500 and this works easily. Thanks again!!! Wow. A 5 year old video still relevant in 2024!!!❤❤❤

My God your kids are annoying, undisciplined and unsocialized in this video. I bet everyone in your tour was gritting their teeth. I had to turn off the sound and turn on the subtitles. Parenting is hard. Try it sometime.

I used a piece of small gauge copper wire to pull the cord through. This allows you to use pliers in the normal way grabbing the copper wire and pulling. I just found this post today. I think that If you have the copper wire available it is a easier way to do this.

Tried this on a Fuji X-T3 which has very similar attachment points, but the only thing that happened is that the anchor got so damaged at the bend that I can see the yellow beneath. "Replace if yellow inner core becomes visible!", the instructions say. Bummer.

Unfortunately there’s child nudity in this video. Super informative, loved that. Aside from the child’s butt being shown his frontal part is visible at some points as well. Super not ok. Having children in videos at all shouldn’t be allowed. If predators found this on the internet they’d exploit that child which is also why I haven’t used any time stamps in case I’d be helping them out in any way

Thanks a lot for the tip!!! I have been meaning to look into this since I picked up my RX100IV, but just getting around to it now. My RX10 which I started using more as my primary camera, didn't have a problem with the sizing. I have some extra anchors now though, and even have some ringlets I was just planning to have to use, but I much prefer just having the anchor attached directly. 🦾👊😎

Tried with different generations of anchors (not sure which is which, they are all mixed in a box). None of them could get through the holes of the A7C. I think I'm returning to the triangles. Did you find a way to do it?

It's strange to hear Americans complaining about Native Americans controlling them at a popular tourist spot on a reservation. They should trust you to just wander around and do whatever to the walls? Do you know how tough it is for many of the people who live on the reservation? How they've been screwed over with utilities? How the fact that they've been pushed onto these reservations is a giant screw-over in itself? Whatever we have to pay and however crowded those tours are, the tribe deserves the revenue for allowing you into their territory.

Yeah, I definitely don't like the crowds. I wonder if there's a time of year to avoid the crowds at Antelope Canyon? I usually plan my travels with that in mind. I'd be using my digital SLR Nikon so I'd be more inclined to go with the photography tour. But this might be a site I'll skip unfortunately. Just sounds too crowded and restricted. Such a shame because it's so gorgeous! Thank you so much for this video. Great information and useful.
