The underperformance of Avatar Pandora and Outlaws is pure schadenfreude for me, and I'm only disappointed that they didn't bomb harder. Obviously I'm not invested in either IP, but what I am interested in is the Tom Clancy umbrella of games, with The Division series being among them. And those two games sucked up all the veteran devs from Massive, leaving a skeleton crew of newbie devs to maintain life support for The Division 2, and only recently expanded on the lore, with a paid DLC coming up. If it weren't for those two distractions, not only will Div2 have a chance of being in a better state than it is now, Div3 will also be a lot closer to reality.

Funny thing is I disagree so much on Ubisoft’s quality (I like Rayman, Mario + Rabbids, and the Prince, everything else since Far Cry 3 has felt creatively sterile to me) and ethics (they might not be EA, Microsoft or Activision bad, but still far below what’s acceptable to me), but I agree 100% a Tencent buyout would be awful. Ubisoft’s first steps to improve their image and quality are in the right direction. That all goes down the drain if Tencent buys them. Not to put down your opinion either. Sometimes another person sees something I don’t in a game and vice versa.

Star Wars Outlaws just looks average. Beautiful environments and aliens...then bland playable character. Also terrible monetization with the pre-orders.

A beefy gaming video! Just what I was thinking. That gap in the market will grow as AAA's legs give out. We're just waiting for the ones who'll figure it out first. A cool era is wisdom based. Sharing talent and the return of community might take a little longer, but it'll be nice to see the up and corning new guys get what they're earned for once.

Skull and Bones exists because the Singapore government funded it and contractually, they had to release something, canceling wasn't an option. It was supposed to be a Black Flag expansion that became its own game. Yes, a singleplayer pirate follow-on to Black Flag became Skull and Bones after almost a decade of development hell, getting rebooted every time the lead got changed.

Which sucks, but that's how things work sometimes. On the other hand Yves Guillemot could have kept his mouth shut and let it die in the dark rather than declaring, " "It's a very big game and we feel that people will really see how vast and complete that game is. So it's a really full triple-A, quadruple-A game that will deliver in the long run." which he damned well knew it wasn't.

Ubi needs to ditch Connect and Ubisoft+ it's costing too much and not making enough. They don't have enough owned IP to justify the price so what's happening is that players are paying $17.99 to play one $69.99 title and then immediately cancelling. Selling the games for $69.99 on another launcher would cut cost, improve revenue and improve sales optics for big title releases.

Not to mention, that monopolization is ultimately detrimental to the spirit of the free market. Having all these massive monolithic entities having control with a lack of competition over the market breeds stagnation, and it's a real unpleasent time.(Also, Thank you for specifiying that the People are not their government!)

It doesn't help that Avatar has had key binding broken since the first DLC launched in July. It resets keys every launch, so your options are, play with default controls, or redo your bindings every time you launch the game. Needless to say, I've been waiting for a patch. I just hope it's eventually fixed.

It almost seems like, when it comes to diffrent facets of childish behavior and what men and women can get away with, men get away with more childish actions (e.g. We've Seen your Boobs Song) but women get away with more childish reactions (tears, playing the victim, shaming). I think it's because men have more license to "act" overall and that can include acting childishly. But women are viewed as more acted upon and our actions justified as reactions to something external. In currrent public discourse we are still far more likely to buy a "But I had to" or "he made me" from a woman.

Me and him are still friends to this day, and he apologised and made up for it

6:25 that's just another example of schrodinger' masculinity in society. Where men are expected to be both emotionaly expressive and stoic. And this always depends on the woman feelings at the time. Men are expected to be both traditionally masculine and liberal.

Constructive criticism: The examples in this video were too vague. I know why it's vague. You're trying to protect the parties involved. But in this particular case the examples were too numerous and too personal to get the point across while maintaining anonymity. I haven't watched the last couple of weeks and stepping into the situation with this video it was just way too confusing with how many times this person was with that person was talking about that person but with that person for a thing, about a thing, about a thing.

The whole thing about "male tears" just seems one big "gotcha" for the militant feminists. The whole "Men should open up and not be afraid of showing vulnerability" while at the same going "Men are so pathetic, and shouldn't treat their partners like glorified therapists to cry on because Women already have alot on their plate" is just one of those things that make me go "which one is it then?!" All it is is just the trappings of the Man box, just with a few extra steps. And for what? To prove a point about male entitlement? That just seems really reductive to dismiss the problems of an individual just because of some archaic social expectations. I get it, that there are people who put on this groveling facade, and use trauma dumping and performative vunerability to excuse toxic behaviors. The whole "I was abused as a kid, so I get a get out of jail free card to act like the worse person ever, and if someone calls me out on it, I can just accuse them of bullying a trauma survivor" mentality that I've seen time and time again. At the same time, using that as an endictment towards people who are legitimately struggling and just going "Whatever, just suck it up loser" is really reductive and damaging. As for the whole "Toxic partner who expects their significant other to fight their battles for them", that seems like the aspect of toxic, abusive manipulative behavior that goes absolutetly underdiscussed when it comes to red flags to spot in a toxic relationship. Likewise I would love to see you go in depth of with the subject of "immature behavior expected in men vs women", because that's the big thing that's been bothering me about modern feminism. It's the paradox of "Women don't need men to swoop in and save the day like Underdog 24/7, we can handle ourselves" while at the same time going "Women need good men(AKA the White Knights) to come in and protect us from the dangers of the world." All it does it just makes me think that the militant feminists are okay with infanitlization when it benifits them.
@maxpayne23221 сағат бұрын
Agree. You gave some very good examples of the hypocritical aspect of feminism that so many feminists vehemently refuse to admit to. But men see through all that stuff right away. At some point feminists will have to admit that they don't want equality. They want selective equality. They want more women in the type of jobs everyone would like to have. But coal miners, deep sea fishing, smoke jumpers ? When it comes to the more dangerous jobs they go "You can have that one". And since it's slowly but surely becoming undeniable now that men are struggling in various ways (mental health, economically) what do they do ? They just blame it on the men themselves. Like I said, it's disingenuous. When women are struggling it's always societys fault. When men are struggling it's without a doubt their own fault. Personally I could never in good conscience call myself a feminist. Sry.

Hm, the remark that "what is a woman" assumes that there is a similar definition of "what is a man", and expressions like "man up", makes me understand a little better why that is an issue at all. Let me then introduce a crazy idea that I've been practicing for my entire life (IIRC): Man: Sexually male individual of the species Homo sapiens Woman: Sexually female individual of the species Homo sapiens (It gets a little complicated in translation, because the Scandinavian languages I speak have TWO words used to label "men", where the most commonly used one is derived from a historically gender neutral word that in modern parlance is semantically closer to "person", suggesting that, at least over here, the label "woman" may have been invented to distinguish the *female party in a marriage* as the subservient party. Hi, I'm speculating out my a-word on this fine day!)

As I wrote on the Kickstarter page, I am saddened that there is a chance this game will never see itself in a finished form as well as that I hope you at least offer what little there is of it into the public space, we dont need another factor towards that 87% figure (according to Kotaku) of games lost to time. I read about the GoFundMe and happily volunteer to have my pledge repurposed to help with it. Much love to you Liana and I hope you're doing well, considering the circumstances. I do hope there is a future for this game tho, with a better dev team, etc.

I know dealing with this must not have been easy and making this decision must have been heartbreaking. To your credit, this is one of the best "Our project must conclude" statements I've heard in the realm of Kickstarter. I have absolutely no regrets about becoming a backer. I hope once this is fully off your plate you can find time to rejuvenate and reclaim your peace of mind. And who knows, maybe it doesn't have to be "No" but only "Not right now." But even if so, I know new adventures will rise up. I will not be asking for a refund. If these events can be routed into something positive and assisting someone in need that is a success, even if an unexpected one. Best wishes.
