Lovely rig Scobie. Happened me couple times before too with trailer plug. Replace the plastic plug with metal plug, cable tie a carabiner to the cable, then hook the carabiner onto the Safety Chain. If the plug falls out on the drive it won't drop to the ground and get smashed up.

The joys of boat fishing! I have had bad petrol, blocked water filter, broken skeg on a road ramp, also I greased trailer and boat slipped off trailer onto concrete jetty, had reversed the petrol lead from tank to engine and pulled for an hour before i realised , boat wouldn't launch till I realised the retaining strap still on, have trailed tail lights and connections on the road and even had a 4hp I forgot to tighten to transom jump up and land in lough, lucky enough i held onto tiller and didnt lose it. All part of the 40+ years of fun. I will agree though Flood Marine been used last number of years and never had a problem with engine. Good luck with rest of season......

Lovely rig Scobie. Great idea for the standing platform, what you gonna use? Will ali react with galvo trailer? Ive my trailer board hanging off the back, those struts look well. Where did you get them, and did you get a bracket to fit trailerboard to them?

What make rod bag were you using the camouflage one.plus could you do a shout out I'm after a tod holdall to suit a set of old drennan pike rods the old 3 piece ones some of the lads around might know a make that would suit them.or some bespoke bag manufacturers big thanks if you can dave

Toyota hilux David.... had a 06 model ...swapped it in 2015 ...neither trucks cost me more than regular service.....i drive them everyday......not the best looking but really are bullet proof...😊

regarding a new towtruck. vw transporter 140/150 hp no more no less.(single turbo basically) 2.5 tonne towing capacity your caddy is about 1.5 tonne. you could even treat yourselves to a 5/6 seater (kombi). cheaper to run (mpg )cheaper on tyres , road tax and other mechanical things. you only need a 4x4 for regular off roading. .if funds dont stretch to a vw, go for other vehicle of similar size, transits etc. you will not regret it. great vid again 👍👍

I’ve an old Peter Drennan “tench” Float rod I’d love to put a bend in it again one day. Also a 13 foot daiwa amorphous whisker float which is just sublime as a mullet rod or for trotting with a centre pin

Good to see you back out scobes. Lough accrussel is a waste of time apart from small stuff during the day time. There are plenty of other good tench lakes within 20 minutes of there. To be fair if you fish close in you would have a better chance of getting one down at dolans ring. It wasnt used in the classic i don't think. That pond was very like english commercial carp fishing except the fish were much smaller than most English lakes where you can catch double figure fish in an evening session. Looks like a well looked after pond though. Electric fence to keep out otters. Good to see you out. Enjoy your fishing!
