The only reason Why it was so quiet in August despite favorable MJO was due to very warm air in the upper levels of the atmosphere creating a cap. Because we are now past summer the upper level of the atmosphere has abundant cold air to support tropical development so I believe we have great support for development.

btw, Im in South Florida and was here when Wilma hit. I also thought it was a 5 because it made a huge mess until it recently after looking it up, then learned it was a 5 in the Gulf like Milton was, and downgraded to 3 when it made landfall and think was down to a 2 by the time it got to Palm Beach County where I am.

I do appreciate the info you share as I am a weather enthusiast and have been thru a few rough rides with Matthew,Irma, and now Helene in southeast Ga so I look forward to your videos. I do have to say, I feel like you shouldn't interrupt your stream to focus on any negative comments you see. Ignore the trolls, don't even mention the H word and just get your info out to those that appreciate it. Take mental notes of the troll and deal with them post info as it does kinda take away from the professionalism that I hope you are trying to show. Just my thoughts.

@@Trendkiller420 haven’t really taken a lot of time to address trolls or the infamous “h” word in a long while. However if there’s drama in the chat I feel as the host it’s necessary to address it even if it’s for a touch and go moment. Main reason I do these live discussions is for the sake of audience interaction. But naturally I see your perspective as well. You can always address troublemakers while still maintaining a professional persona. It’s how you go about it that really dictates it :)

Correct, talked about this yesterday morning as a matter of fact. Some bubbling tropical moisture situated over the Bahamas keeps flinging some isolated thunderstorms up towards Miami. Essentially the only spot in Florida still seeing some rain coverage, the rest of us are clear skies

Do you expect anymore strong hurricanes to form and head to Florida in the future? Hurricane season runs until November I believe so what do you think will happen next?

The strong hurricane piece is most definitely possible. The general steering trend has favored Florida last few Caribbean storms so it’s a bit of a wild card style forecast. Need to see what 94L does down the road

I will say this. That tornado outbreak was unlike anything I ever seen during a tropical landfall event. The amount of supercells and confirmed tornado warnings, reminded me of a PDS / SWO

It really was the wildcard with Milton. Especially in Florida, especially during a hurricane. Seeing those types of tornados was wild. They normally go away as soon as the warnings go out for them. So to see a big honker of a tornado, and several of them...just crazy.

We had a dark feeling there was a tornado outbreak coming with the evolution of the storm after landfall. But I’d be boldly lying if I said we forecasted something of that magnitude with long trackers and wedge tornadoes…

Thank goodness, NOTHING is out there right now. Sitting here in the dark for 3rd night (I think), not having water in St Petersburg since Milton hit due to water mains being broken, plus spotty internet do NOT need another Storm of any type. Still NO word from Duke on a timeline when we could get power back on, should have water on Monday. State didn’t know everyone was having issues either internet. Doesn’t matter who your carrier is NO one has internet. Cellphone towers were damaged in St Petersburg. Gas Stations do not have gas, because they don’t have power so tankers aren’t coming in to fill them up. It’s bad here.

My favorite part about this new position so far has to be all the long-time viewers who have joined me in experiencing what this new chapter has in store. I love the job, I love the goals set forth, but I will always remember the humblest of beginnings last year. We may not be a big community, but I feel like the most successful weather youtuber having such a supportive group all in the same corner as we take on this new path ahead together.

As of now, I'm truthfully not seeing much of anything. Looks like our long-range models predict there is a chance for the Atlantic to become favorable for tropical activity as we get into the second half of October and especially closer to Halloween. But nothing of any concern. If that were to change, we'd be on here at a moment's notice.
