I bought my boat hoist side loader used. How do I find out the weight load it can take. It's not written on it.? The person I bought it from bought it second hand. He couldn't tell me the load capacity

its the load capacity of your roof you need to worry about, the boathoist will be a lot stronger than the roof itself.

@adamkelly6264 it's not going on the roof. It's a tub. Dual cab. On sports bar and ladder rack bar. Soon to be a tray and canopy. Just on your website, you have 2 different boat loaders. 130kg load up to a 1.6 metre wide. 180kg load up to 1.8 metres wide. Soon I will be buying a new boat. Would help if I know what size boat I can put on it. Thanks 👍🏻

i just cheat and leave the straps loose , slide part in then gradually tighten it up

Yes they are RMS approved and come with a VIN number. We are currently going through the new ROVER national certification process.

@@Beetlesgonefishin so it doesn’t exceed GVM, weight of the boat, weight of the boat loader, add the outboard and put in the passengers. I’m sure GVM will be exceeded hence illegal

@@trevorspeedy6333 the aluminium boat loader and boat weigh around 100kg together, mine is about 97kg on the roof with a 3.7m dinghy. The outboard weighs 25kg and that sits on the draw Bar of my caravan which had a dual jerry can holder there. So I actually have less weight on there than I would with 2 full jerry cans. My car is rated to carry 1050kg without gvm. So am well under my weights when travelling and had it all confirmed and safe.
