I was just given a challenge coin from someone I worked with 2 years ago I believe he gave it to me because I was interviewed by some important people than later the next year I was sent to Washington DC soon think it was do to my accomplishments and how good of a worker I have been in the past

I would say for mass production that is incorrect. Stamped metal is 100 times faster than a fiber laser.

Not sure what the best approach may be. But you can start by wiping down the clasp with a soft cloth to remove initial layers of dirt, dust or grime, gently scrub with a plastic scrubber (brush or pad) and wipe down again with a cloth dipped in warm water. If you have a small set of pliers you can hold the base with one hand while pushing back and forth to loosen the safety pin clasp until it opens. Wish you luck!
