In short, act like you've been there before. My Reds were hit by more pitches that any other team two years ago. They also had the most ririculoous choreography to celebrate home runs.. Connection, I hope so. Pitchers do not like all the hystrionics.

Betting on baseball games and the Reds and then lying about it most likely has doomed his chance to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in his lifetime. However, the fact that MLB jumped into bed with legalized gambling, as other sports have, and when they turned a blind eye to the PED Era, illustrated their hypocrisy. Thanks for listening and commenting. Please check out more than two hundred quick (two minutes or less) features on my website and KZbin channel

Pete Rose is the Hit King. It's idiotic to keep him out of the Hall of Fame. The Hall is a joke. I don't take it seriously. The guy with the most hits isn't in it. Neither is the guy with the most homeruns. It's all about what the guys did on the field. They deserve to be recognized for what they accomplished. If they can't be it's a joke. And so it is.
@two-minutetimeoutwithjoesh2907Ай бұрын
The gambling prohibition posted in every clubhouse and lying about it for fifteen years are the major deterrents for Pete's chance to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. However, MLB gladly jumping into bed with sports betting, and pretending that it didn't know that PED's were being used, reveals the hypocrisy of keeping Pete out. Thanks for listening and please check out more than two hundred of my archived baseball two-minute features.

John Sterling, radio announcer for the Yankees, would always say “Yankees win! THEEEEE Yankees Win!” And Howie Long of the Mets would say “Put it in the books!” I do remember the Pirates winning the World Series in 1979, the year after the Yankees won back to back World Series titles (which they wouldn’t win again until 1996 because became really bad). But I remember the Pirates cap with the gold striping going around the perimeter of the cap, with a flat top. Having lived in Steubenville for about nine years between 2009 to 2018, I always found it to be interesting that Pittsburgh didn’t have a basketball team. They had all the other sports: Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. But no basketball team (unless you want to count Pitt). But at lease you could use the terrible towel at any professional sporting event in Pittsburgh, since they all wear the same colors: black and gold.
@two-minutetimeoutwithjoesh29072 ай бұрын
Thanks for listening and sharing your memories of the Pirates. It's always great to hear from knowledgeable baseball fans. Concerning prof basketball, the ABA was in Pittsburgh for several years; however, the fact that the Pittsburgh metro area is not heavily populated and there is only so much money to go around because fans support the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins, a Pittsburgh NBA franchise will never happen in our lifetimes. Thanks again for listening to my features.

I'm a bit younger than Dave, I remember seeing that race on TV. We (brothers and I) noticed how slow he started, but also how fast the others looked like they were going by the way they were straining (almost like sprinting). Good to see he stuck to his race plan and had the reserves in the end to sprint down the home stretch. I also like the little commentary in this video about him having a nagging injury and he was keeping workouts light to not aggravate it. That explains the comments from other runners that he was a 'lazy runner' and didn't take workouts too seriously.

Thanks for listening and watching! Dave is a tremendous person. I think that you would agree with me that the race was the most memorable in the history of track: dead last at the halfway point to finishing first. Then, add in the fact that his coach was furious with him because he got married before the Olympics, they got $3.00 a day per diem, the Russian had not lost a race in three years, he was a much better 1500 runner but had not trained much due to injury, the list could go on and on. Thanks again and please forward the interview to others.

When idiot fans worshipped the steriod era and juiced ball of late 90s, early 2000s. And " fans " valued a hitter 1 for 9 with a HR instead of On Base Percentage or players like Rod Carew, Tony Gywnn or Wade Boggs. Things went south ! Fck McGuire, Sosa, Rafael Palmeiero, then ruined the game! Didn't improve it, you idiots! Now nobody cares a ot hitting. 300

That pantyhose thing is the real deal......used them as a teen skiing at Night, in Zero Degree Weather......because i could get a ride with my Neighbor, who just wanted to get out when the Slopes werent so crowded. I used it again, in College......we played a team near Erie, Pa. That had an open ended Rink. Both ends of the were open, i guess to allow the Natural Freezing weather to keep the ice in good shape. After my first game there....i stowed some pantyhose in my kit, as i played there another 7 times thru college. I do believe that was the coldest i ever was in my life. I remember driving up in late afternoon, with sun and it was 9 Degrees.....we played at 7 oclock, Night Time, and the Wind was just blasting from one end of the rink. My Coach Gary wised up and told the other guys not too bust my chops, so when we had to go there, most every one had a set of pantyhose, snd it worked! BTW ....in those days, and even Now......EVERY Hockey player was wearing a Garter Belt to hold up the Socks....so really , Nothing Queer going on Here!

In the Early 90's , I was working at a Cessna Dealer in South Florida, as Parts/ Maintenance Director for a busy Flight School, and flew a little South to attend an Air show,at an old Sprawling WWII air base, Opa Locka. We were in a 182 RG, getting funneled into the Civilian Runway, when someone screwed up their approach, and the pattern got even more congested. Anyway, the Tower was trying to usher in the big Military support acft for the Blue Angels...they had their own seperate Ramp, and all the show planes , were already in place , tied down. To Thin the Pattern, Tower, and the Support Plane yakked at us and asked if we could dive at the deck, and make the first turn.....to clear the cluttered Pattern. I still remember the guy driving the Blue Angel Support Plane Saying,, " id really appreciate that Manuever 96Tango.....you guys can bunk on our Ramp! Of course we did it, so at that Airshow , All the Blue Angels were in perfect Statitic Ground formation.....with our little 182 just next in line. All the Pilots, and Ground Crew, treated us so good, and actually let us take Photos of our Crew with them with their fabulous jets......and got us all a group photo around our little 182 RG. N2296T Those guys were absolute Cool and Down to Earth!

The modern nfl has gone soft in relation to the old days. Guys back then had a code of honor but did everything they could to win. They played with equipment that wouldn’t pass a Halloween costume standard. The athletes today are bigger and faster and somewhat enhanced so it makes a difference when contact is made with an opponent.
