Elle est bien cette petite. Ying Fang à ses débuts, certainement. Beaucoup de potentiel. Je met un pouce bleu sans hésiter, car ce morceau d'Hendel est très dur. Je l'ai Comparé à Julia Lezhneva, toutes proportions gardées bien sûr, puisque Ying n'a certainement pas l'expérience et l'organe assez exceptionnel de Julia. Mais malgré tout je félicite Ying pour sa prestation. Bravo mademoiselle Ying Fang et bonne continuation. ❤❤❤

i was there for two performances of this run. they were magical performances with the late johan botha and peter mattei, who were both very good. ying fang’s voice was so pure, crystalline and ringing, it was a moment of pure magic.

Im so sorry, I don't have it!! I went on an obsessive investigation about Ying Fang and found this clip about her, it is from The Metropolitan Opera production with music director James Levine from 2015. I believe it is available on demand on the metropolitan webpage....

Wagner composed this for a young boy's voice. It doesnt sound right (much less look right) being sung by a grown woman.

I can’t speak to what Wagner had in mind but the singers who premiered the role in both Dresden and Paris were women and Wagner supervised both of those premieres. So he evidently had no real problem with it .

@@petercallahan7321Wagner's intention is a scene of an innocent young boy (shepherd boy I think?). This scene immediately follows the vanishing of the decadent Venusberg to a picture of innocence. This boy character was first performed by women "en travesty". Perhaps then, just as now, the practicalities of having a young male singer perform this role night after night was not possible, so women are often given the part.
