This song has only 7 measures. The 8th measure is 'missing', and what gives the melody it's uneven feel. Like if a sentence you're reading abruptly-

A master songstress who communicates on a level no other can. An absolute genius, who we will never see the likes of again. To have Joni in my life has been a delight. Her music and lyrics have fed all my emotions all of my life and I feel blessed.

I keep playing this version over and over again. It's the lyrics and melody that brings out the melancholic emotion

Mike Gibbs" orchestrations...fabulous. He seldom gets a mention for this. The whole album, by the way.

I always find myself coming back to this song every now and then. Back in the 2010 era, this entire album was on repeat on my iPod. It's heartwarming to see all the comments here, each person sharing their unique, happy experience with this song. I'm so glad this track resonates with all of us in such a similar way.

This was part of a chillout comp I bought years ago at Sonic Boom (a Toronto used record store made briefly famous in the Scott Pilgrim film). Oh for the days of spontaneous discovery.

Always brings a tear to my eye this tune. I did a montage of images in a video of a great day spent with my dog Bobalob who is no longer with us 😢 I used this track & Aquarius to go with the images. Brings back such good memories. RIP Bobalob. Love you mate.

This lp ruined alot of music for me. Its a very high water mark. So I swing from early AC/DC (you try writing great songs with just 3 chirds!) to this and then classsical music. Job done.
