yes it can be rough on them in the wild, fortunately we get mild winters , tropical really apart from the few odd days where we may see 45 degree weather for a day or two...the day Ava was released it was about 65 degree, but the water she fell into may be quite cold ..anyway happy to report she's doing great again...will monitor her progress for release in the near future

look at the end of the video, .Ava is alive and well and suffered no injuries I took her out her cage a few days later and she is happily running around, playing and hiding nuts in the house as if nothing happened. I will give her a little more time to settle down before I release her again. I believe she will be successfully released in the near future. keep watching my channel for updates and thanks for your concern for Ava.

Why was Ava and Ani cared for? Cute.

Both Ani and Ava had the misfortune to have fallen out of their nests during tremendous wind and thunderstorms at around three weeks old, their eyes were not even opened yet, I tried to reunite them with their respective mothers but was not successful in doing so, my only recourse was to care for them until they were big enough to release back in the wild. Ani was my first rescue over two years ago and she visits me daily for breakfast lunch and dinner . Ava was released a few days ago, but I think she needs a bit more time to get adjusted, it is said that Squirrels do well after being kept for 4 to 6 months prior to release. keep watching my videos to see the progress of my cute wild Squirrel pets.

So many emotions while watching your wonderful video of Ava. Started off so nice seeing her excitement and enjoying the new wonderful world. I wonder when she left your property, she was playing tag with the other squirrels and maybe fell into a small pool of water and had a bad and scary moment that she never experienced before. It was so nice to see you looking out for her and rescuing her again to dry/warm her and give her securing again. I am so happy to see she didn't have any injuries. It was nice to see her regain normal self again and perhaps she needs a little more time. Consider this a soft release before the day is really ready. I am sure you will have a successful release of Ava in the near future. You are such a kind and compassionate loving human being. It is very nice to see your journey with Ani and Ava. You bring such warm optimism into a world that can display some terrible behavior. I hope you have other opportunities to rescue and rehab squirrels in the future. They seem to bring you so much happiness too. Thank you for all you do for these precious furry creatures.

She wants to stay with you in the surroundings she is use to...My pet sqirrel Geoff is the same way. We raised him from a bottle as a tiny little guy that had apparently been blown from his nest sometime over 2 days of crazy winds we had here back in April of 2022...He has a permanently injured left front paw so he is with us for the duration...Keep that beautiful little Ava...She I obviously knows and wants nothing more than the love of her human that has taken care of her... Sqirrels make such awesome pets...
