Pre-tensioning seat belts are needed at minimum, ideally airbags as well. That would improve safety significantly for occupants.

Stellantis needs to rethink the Ami into a better formula, something that isn't a Moroccan built tube steel chassis with a plastic tub on top. Something that's reminiscent of the 1960s Ami, particularly its 2CV-derived horizontal swing arm suspension and ladder/skateboard chassis
@loboptlu4 күн бұрын
Well it is more solid than an original ami , doesn’t help the driver though. My mom disintegrated one once with her Opel Kadett by lightly touching it , had to change the indicator of the left side , luckily it was icy and my mom and the ami where only going at around 10 to 15 km/h so the ami driver was only a bit shaken.
@nickwinn781224 күн бұрын
This is meaningless without the data from the accelerometers on the dummy. How hard did the head contact the steering wheel? You claim it would be fatal, but give no data to back that up.
@NoCoMpany74124 күн бұрын
Well i got the Footage at the beginning is from a German TV Series called Automobil thats about cars and because of Copyright i cant publish the whole Video but there it was claimed to be fatal Injuries including Articles that also back up my Claim sadly there are no official test documents availble

Plastic body is more flexible… maybe they should start making cars of plastic body instead of steel…
@Romiman13 күн бұрын
The frame is still steel. And there also are/were some regular cars with plastic-bodies. (Chevrolet Corvette, Renault Espace...) But all steel bodies ensure better crash results and are cheaper to produce (in big scale). Otherwise this wouldn't be the standard.

@@NoCoMpany741 this thing is build to survive those oversized SUVs with 2 to 2.8 tons, what do you think? It does a better job, didn't get crushed as a 2002 VW Polo. Being crushed between two cars is a bigger concern in an urban environment as running with full speed into a concrete wall without breaks. Have you seen the main frame of this thing? This thing is a tank.
@NoCoMpany741Ай бұрын
@@reinekewf7987 That's the problem the force of the impact will be directly redirected to the passengers that was the problem with cars from the 60s till 90s
@reinekewf7987Ай бұрын
@@NoCoMpany741 i dont care having a leg or arm broken instead ob being crushed between two vehicles. Most crashes in urban environment are in a speed rage of 5 to 25kmh, not with 50 or even 60kmh. So yeah it's pretty safe, especial compared to other AM vehicles like an actual quad or 45kmh motorcycle. Do you know what? You can die on a motorcycle even 0kmh and no contact with others, only by falling over. Your helmet don't protect you against snapping your spine. What are you going to do about that? Forcing motorcyclist or cyclist using a expensive 1000€ airbag system you have to replace every 2 years? Besides that, L6eBP vehicles doesn't have to have a crash structure, seat belts two headlights, a windscreen wiper, dual braking system, two independent braking systems, a independent suspension system and so on. There are many things in this vehicle you are not required to have. You know these things from the 70s like the Sinclair? That thing isn't really bare minimum, but a crash with that thing you wouldn't have a chance to survive with your head on the height of a bumper. so yeah. The aixams and AMI/Rocks/Topolino or what ever you wanna call them are pretty safe for what it is. It is a L6eBP vehicle, an urban mobility vehicle, nothing else. Do you use the seat belts in a city bus? i mean they drive with up to 80kmh and in a car you have to use a seat belt of you driving faster than 5kmh. So why have 95% of all city busses no seat belts? More people die in a train and bus accident on city speeds as in a L6e vehicle. Think about that. The numbers of accident in which are l6eBP vehicles involved are is extremely high compared to bus and train combined. If they are not safe, why so many people die in those supposedly safer vehicles?
