"SQUIRRELS TALK" There are some rodents that you can see in their natural habitat Running, jumping and scurrying, burying nuts is just where it's at Don't get any closer Don't get any nearer Wild at heart, scared of all humans Oh, I, I just wonder if squirrels talk Walking in a park or by trees, I think about squirrel talk Oh, the chitter-chatter that is non-stop is conducive to squirrel talk But I can't say the words, they aren't clear I suppose I'm meant to never really quite hear, quite hear just how...squirrels talk I just wanna know how...squirrels talk When they sit upon the tree bough, squirrels talk As they scamper and they move Are they in a talking groove Right now?

First of all the song by Elvis Costello is Revolver-era Beatles brilliant. But this is the arrangement that put it over the top. After all these years I'm honestly still in awe of it.

Amazing Tune ! Written by 'Elvis Costello' , the Bass player is 'Nick Lowe, who had an amazing solo career as well as producing the first LP by 'The Damned' ! Loads going on here! dx

I had a group of friends around this time who considered themselves 'music afficianados' who absolutely hated Rockpile. They couldn't understand why I liked the band, since my tastes pretty much mirrored theirs. I liked this band because of the talent in it, and how fun their music was. I feel that the attitude of my friends was basically the attitude of American rock critics which is why Rockpile didn't make it as big as they rightfully should have.
