And if your company that you working at goes bankruptcy and you have been employeed at least 12 months. Then you can get full sallary payments for maximum 4 months total or to the maximum payment amout of 4 "prisbasbelopp". "Prisbasbelopp" changes every year, this year it is 52000 SEK if I remember it correct.

Interesting to hear about your experience! It sure can be exhausting being home on parental leave. As you said, you really need to plan the next day for it to run smooth. You need to have routines figured out and have a plan for lunch and snack. Otherwise the day just come crashing down. I was also on leave during Covid and it was so lonely. I really missed meeting other adults. I mean its hard to find time to hang with friends or have meaningful interactions with other parents anyway. But it was just really hard. My first time home it was still hard because you have different routines than your friends because the kids have different needs. And even if you meet up in a park, you cant really finish a whole conversation. You almost only have time for small talk between tending to kids or feeding their play with fantasy or interaction. One awesome hack i came up with was to get a hammock. During summer i could put the smallest kid to sleep for 1-1,5 hours without the need to bring a trolley, so i could bike with the kids wherever. It made us more mobile and let us stay out in the park or on the beach the whole day while at the same time giving the kid some quality sleeptime. I basically just needed a plan for lunch. Even if it was a lot of work, it gave us a lot of good times!

You have to declare your Swedish income in the US. But you get a tax credit for taxes paid in Sweden which is higher than the US so generally that amounts to no tax in the US for Swedish income. Mutual fund investments are taxed though. The US doesn’t like foreign mutual funds and taxes them heavily.

I have never heard anyone answer with the year they were born when asked about their age ! Is that a new thing !? / The reindeers belong to the Samepeople in the north and a small number are eaten every year and also moose and other deers ( hunted once a year ) Is is very healthy meat ! But if you want a real challenge - try Surströmming ! About staring - I am surprised that people stare at you - do you live in a small town ? We have more than one million people in Sweden with different shades of brown - it is not news anywhere ! Maybe they like your looks ! Arond 1970 I worked with supporting SNCC and the Panthers and we had many deserters from the Vietnamwar and sometimes people could shout rasist words. But since then the population has become more international so I didn´t think things like staring happened anymore !

The Swedish 'j' is between the English 'j' and 'y', but closer to the latter. But it IS a slightly difference between jaw/yaw, jello/yellow*, gel (jell)/yell, joke/yoke, juice/use, and of course yin and gin! When you don't get the difference between sh/ch... Sheep/cheap, ship/chip, shill/chill, shoes/choose etc I don't know about nowadays, but back in the days of the dinosaurs, in the seventies, when I went to school, we weren't even told about the 'z'-sound of the letter 's', only if spelled 'z', which is pretty obvious. I wasn't aware of how much of a difference it can make, until I heard the word 'precedent' in the TV series 'Law and Order'. It is pronounced exactly like we say 'president' in Swedish. It was a totally new word for me, and I couldn't figure out what a president had to do with situation. After a deep investigation through a bunch of dictionaries I found the word 'precedent' (prejudikat in Swedish), and also learned that it is a 'prezident' who leads a country or company. I guess the use of dictionaries explain this was a while ago 😂, the show started to run in 1990!) HOWEVER, we could make a looooooong list of difficulties in Swedish, that most foreigners struggle with..😅 *I know '-o' and '-ow' are pronounced differently, but I've heard people who say those words exactly the same.

Suggest you make a new one with less misleading info. Anyone can draft a will as long as you have two witnesses singing it. Same with prenup. The thing that sticks out in Sweden is Allmänna arvsfonden. you should google that. That makes for a good youtube short. Keep up the good work.

BTW parental leave isnt something that somehow magically just manifested itself. It has taken a lot of hard work for many years by the labor unions and by pressure from ordinary people, politicians etc. You can achieve that as well in the US :)

It's about not bragging and to not put yourself above others. And I guess, to not expect rewards/love from others because of your actions or wallet size. Saying you were at a charity last weekend is fine, saying you enjoy helping out in your community or that you worked really hard to get where you are is all fine. Saying "look at my new car, few could ever afford it" and "I'm rich now cause I've worked much harder than anyone else ever could" or telling others "I'm such a nice guy (so you should want to marry me)" is not fine xD. Come to think about it, in a way, it's kind of an anti-entitlement rule.🤔 If something good (or bad) happens few would fault you for wanting to talk about it... to a healthy extent... and as long as you don't act like whatever happened makes you better than others, and don't assume everyone will be equally interested.

The staring is like Swedes wondering what kind of person you would be to talk to. It is not so much about the personal space. It is mainly about the insecurity when it comes to talking to strangers. I get the feeling that us Swedes want to talk deep inside, but doesn't feel comfortable. So staring is the closest we get to talking to random people haha. When we realize that you know that we are staring at you we blush. Some times it may just be a crush.

I was sorry to hear about your experience of staring, especially since I was happy to hear, in another of your videos, that you are relieved about the police actually doing their job, to serve and protect ALL citizens. Because I suspect you where being stared at because you are black... that is, different. I don't know how much this would be racism or how much it is due to a society of conformity, but maybe that is the same. Otherwise swedes are known for their need to keep distance, and to often pretend that they don't notice you if you share space with a stranger. Personally I have not experienced being stared at, and that is probably because I look Swedish average. But when you say it, being in a crowd of strangers, I would sometimes observe someone staring at a person who look different in some way, and I would think the person staring is disrespectful, because you should have the right to non-perfect conformity, and I would start staring at the starer, like you do, and when they notice me observing their staring, they will stop... but when I think about it, this would more likely have been in my youth (I'm 47), because here in Stockholm we have nowadays a mix of differnt people, and black is not so outlandish anymore. I don't know, but tolerance might be less in a smaller town. When I went to first grade, all the other children where ethnically swedish, but since then luckily there is a greater mix, and when I went to university my two best friends were black but born in Sweden.
