Great film, one of the best rock, bio pics of all time. Too bad Bernard and Co. gave the green light for those shit videos "reimagining" tracks from U.P.s and Closer a few years ago. Absolutely embarrassing, those. But this, this is great.

The best thing about Joy Division is their legacy. How they cast the gloom and doom over the music world. Sad ballads became even worse and boring when these guys came along. And I don't like sad ballads. Should we blame them? Nah. We should congratulate them.

It was amazing how these actors learned to actually play Joy Division songs live in the movie. I really thought it was the original at first. Not a lot of bands out there who can do JD just but these actors should made it come alive. WOW
@MrCamelneck9 жыл бұрын
Jason Unsell Maybe nobody wants to play JD songs because Joy Division songs are very, very simple to play. What makes them special is the fact that they are so unique. The band invented goth rock.

71crm I agree and he can sing, too. IMO his vocals are far superior to that of Ian Curtis. He also does a fantastic job at imitating Ian's nerd dance.

Shows you that Ian was already poetic and minimalistic even in his early years. He saw the changing face of punk and moved with it. He wasn't spiking his hair or sticking safety pins in his nose and instead found a more subtle yet profound way to get the message across.
