When Buddy gave a concert in my area about 20 yrs ago and walked among the audience, I was in the front row and gave him a pin that said I love the night life. He was still hot at age 70.

Seen Buddy Guy 5 times from 1984 to 2005. Such a great player...a few of those times He'd break into Zepppelin, Santana, Cream/Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendirx. Each Time seeing him seemed better than the Last.

Strange to think we see this man as elderly, but he's 'only' 8 years older than Mick Jagger. And Johnny Cash died a very frail old man at only 71. Age is such a weird thing, hits us all differerently. Nevertheless, Buddy has definitely still got it, both vocally and playing. Amazing.

I saw Buddy Guy once on the Experience Hendrix in tour in Memphis. There were many guitars on stage that night, but I can still remember his VOICE. He did a tremolo thing with it. I was 20.

This implies that Buddy is dead! ... which Mr. Guy IS NOT! RE-TITLE this (at the very least!)! As far as I am aware, Buddy Guy has shows slated to play in 2024, yet.

We saw his band open for 10 Years After at the Kinetic Playground in late 1968 ( Chicago USA). Still an outstanding memory to this day. $ 5 .

At first I thought the title meant that Buddy Guy had died. Nope... Then I did some more googling and found out that that he has stopped touring but will continue to play at his residency and a festivals. So I think "last concert" is a bit misleading. "Last tour date" would be more accurate.

Here's hoping Buddy still has a few more gigs in him. Seen him several times and always put on a fantastic show...and he can work a crowd like nobody else. A fine bluesman and even finer human being. BRAVO SIR! Enjoy your so very well deserved retirement. 👏👏👏👏

Caught him back in the day at a little club in Northern Virginia, just outside of DC. All of the classic showmanship stuff was great - including walking down a row of tables while on top of them and turning his Strat's volume totally off so the audience had to be completely silent to hear it being played unamplified. The best part was when he went into a ripping solo and walked out of the door to play in the middle of the intersection. He came back in, walked up to the bar where I was standing, nodded to the barkeep, got a glass of ice and an open bottle of beer, filled the glass halfway with the beer, put the bottle down, drained the glass, put it down, and headed back to the stage the whole playing blizzard of noted with just the left hand. I grabbed the still half full bottle of beer and knocked it back.

Saw Buddy twice at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, right around the corner from where I live. Such an entertaining Bluesman, with all his stories of past greats and his amazing performance. Its a small venue and he came into the audience and was within three feet of me… got some great video footage! He is the elder statesman for the blues now…long live Buddy Guy!❤️

Not sure he can actually play the guitar. We used to put on his live albums for a laugh. The ridiculous bending and terrible timing with many "bum" notes.

PERÄNIEMEN KASINO, Kuopio, FIN, wed, may 26th, 1981. 43 yrs ago. Beautiful old wooden pavillion on a small lakeside peninsula, inside a midsize city, veiled by freshly-blossomed young and old birch trees in their glissful prime, soft but bright spring evening sunlight. . . 1st personal encounter w him ..and Jr. Still got the ticket and his auto to my name on JSP Breakin Out album cover. Nick Charles was on bs, Pete Allen on 2nd, Marty Binder (UK) on dms. 2 sets, audience went savo-ecstatic ...went backstage and talked w him bout Jimi, Janis, JDM ..others ; he said :" They all lived their lives 2 fast, such a shame, talented folks..." Buddy sure didn t. Can t buy this is his big-stage swan song. He ll die w his bootz on... that are made 4 dancing ...both in the ghetto streets & in blues heaven-haven ..What a wonderful life in this crummy, greed-ridden, wartorn peel of a world ... !!! 🇫🇮

A pity that the sound recording is below standard; it's almost impossible to get a word he says. Of this really was his last concert ever, I hope there was another sound capture going on.

Being in Sydney Australia I only got to see him once at the State Theatre in Sydney. That was about 35 years ago, and I still count it as the best blues gig I've ever attended. Then in 1999 I was lucky enough to of met Buddy at Legends in Chicago. I was that starstruck all I could do was tell him that he had a nice club and could he please sign my t shirt 😂 And then many years later I read his excellent autobiography and he likes nothing better than speaking to fans. Aah well.
