Would love to know where that sample came from. I know David got a lot of samples just by dropping acid and wandering around some dodgy NY 'hoods with a DAT recording random people!

Joni is my favorite artist (she shoulda won the Nobel before Dylan) but Bette's version of this is hands down the best. Everyone else sings it too "correctly", while Bette's is actually funny because she's not just singing a funny song; she's playing the character all the way.

My all time favorite Bette song! When I was a freshman in high school, we had to do a lip sync routine for our drama class. I did this song, except I couldn't help but sing along, as that was what I always did when I listened to the song. I got an A. :D

Can't believe this. I guess that Soul transcends race. A great album that transcends what I thought possible: A moment in music history that needs still more , more , more unfolding into the lap of the deserving and stressed American public.

Thanks for replying but sorry, misunderstanding. I thought he meant the actual sample in the Song. I remember buying this album back in 1997! I know he got a lot of samples just by wandering around some dodgy neighbourhood in the US while tripping balls, lol.

thanks very much for the playlist it was very useful for revision! and half the music in the anthology is shite, im not a big fan of the webern and berio peices, i appreciate them but i wouldn't choose to listen to them. they are far better than oasis though. why they are in the anthology i really dont know.

@otavioandradas I know they're amazingly talented composers, but the pieces we've been studying, I really dislike them. I'm not judging them, and yes I do remember there names (Sequenza III, Quartet Op. 22), and I studied them for my exam, I didn't just dismiss them, I'm entitled to my opinion as much as you're entitled to yours.

I have for certain things like the octave monophony in bar 40-41, but still need to properly memorise the bar numbers for the sonata form it's in the first subject, exposition etc. Should be okay, I should hope I don't get this in my listening I'd much rather have to comment on why it's a typical neoclassic piece or comparing it's texture would be nice.
@Denyernator
@Denyernator 13 жыл бұрын
@CariLaythorpe It's contrapuntal between the two orchestras, but homophonic within them, ie the melodies are doubled between instruments, even though there are two melodies going at once.
@Denyernator
@Denyernator 13 жыл бұрын
@Oliiiverr I don't think it's irrelevant at all. That is exactly what we need to know. Have you memorised the bar numbers yet?
