Pretty rich for Drake to cry "market manipulation" to UMG AND Spotify over this seeing as it was his face that was plastered on literally EVERY Spotify playlist (even ones where he had no tracks) during his Scorpion album roll out 🙄

It’s probably valid and Drake knows this because his company has used market manipulation to benefit him This is a huge problem in the music industry

Doesn’t that mean that albums are beneficial, as Spotify would keep playing your songs instead of changing to random ones?

It’s true that Spotifys North Star metric is Time Spent Listening but it doesn’t have an incentive for it to be all from the one artist which is why mood/genre/contextual playlists with mixed artists are pushed so much on the platform. Maybe it speaks more to changes in consumer attention span but it’s increasingly difficult to get listeners to play an album the whole way through when they have an almost infinite catalogue of tracks at their fingertips. The album really has to be undeniably fantastic or have a large amount of hype built around it pre release.

Unfortunately not :'( Our loops are only created from raw recordings and performances of real artists/musicians and we currently have no access to a Gospel choir!
