This is awsome. 0 talk about it means that humanity is evolving towards average assholes.

absolute magic... I've silently followed Jane's music for around 15 years, and listening to this album for the first time has been an enthralling experience. she is so far ahead of the classic contemporaries like Joni Mitchell, she is the real deal. she predates the solo classical guitar sound Sun Kil Moon did by around 25-30 years. her fingerstyle complexity and guitar technique are breathtaking to me as a guitarist. I hope she is rediscovered and given the attention her music has deserved the past 40+ years.

Stephane Grappelli played with David on the King of the Gypsies movie soundtrack. It's where I first heard Stephan. I was lucky to see him at the Newport Jazz festival a few years later. What a player!❤

The 1981 tour of the David Grisman Quintet was Incredible. Stéphane Grappelli's playing was STILL just Unbelievable. Stéphane and Mark O'Connor playing LIVE together was so fantastic. You could just see how much fun they were having. I saw David with his Quintet or Quartet live multiple times back then. Every time was Special.... 😎

A really nice early record from tenor man Javon Jackson. Had the pleasure seeing him with the late Elvin Jones, and they really had an affinity for one another...glad to hear it documented on a record, esp. with Elvin's longtime time piano call James Williams, and the impeccable Christian McBride, who maybe hadn't played with Elvin too much. A great listen san commercials. Thank you Joey for the upload!!!

I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal 40 years ago. Most of the volunteers brought some cassette tapes and a player with them. When we got together, listening to American music and drinking a few beers was nice. One of the volunteers had this album on tape. I was just reminded of it, yesterday, when a friend shared a bluegrass recording with me. I found a used copy of Hot Dawg on CD with a Google search and ordered it.
