I filmed the video for Friday the 27th already due to prepping for Christmas, but I will definitely film a video and include swatches with the toppers over the mattes for either the next Friday video, which would be the 3rd of January or I will try to do that as just a bonus video that I pop up sometime soon! ☺️

At some point, there's only so many "different" enough shades you can have. This reminds me of the shades in Flutter. They are in fact different but not paired together

@@Nohemie617 yes exactly, they are definitely different but on the lid next to each other they are probably not super distinguishable from each other and that’s what I was trying to explain! (Unless of course you are super into makeup and then you could probably notice a difference, but the average person couldn’t!) ☺️

Do I need more palettes? Absolutely NOT.. Am I contemplating on this one? YES (lol) For your nails, I recommend, if you can, to find a nail tech that specializes in natural nail growth to build your nail strength. I use builder gel on myself and a few clients to get the nails healthy and growing. It always saddens me to hear someone having issues growing out their nails.

@@Nohemie617 I really do enjoy playing with it and the shimmers are beautiful in this palette. In my Ensley reign ranking video I did a couple weeks ago I talked about the couple of cons with the palette that I do have, but it overall is beautiful and has the mid and deeper tones that help to create more looks than just pastel, which I appreciate!

I have the Groovy Garden palette, and it’s ok but a couple of the shimmers are a little chunky with a lot of fallout. It was the only ER palette that I bought and wasn’t really impressed with it and will not be purchasing from them again. I like your honest opinion and your channel.

I know they do have a couple shimmer formulas and one of them is the chunkier formula, which I don’t mind but I know a lot of people do not like it! So you are not alone with that feeling ☺️

@ yes and I do really like it but something is making me hold off so I’m going to listen to that because when I don’t I usually regret my purchase! But maybe if they release something else that I like and want to purchase later maybe I’ll pick that palette up at the same time, but I’ll see. So far it is just a no because I just can dupe too many of the shades and even though it still qualifies with my rules I have for myself something is just holding me back!

I'll probably comment repeatedly or edit my comment as I watch. I wanted to lyk that nomad's shimmers are different in every palette because they try to utlize an ingredient in the formula from the area the palette is based on. So for instance, the ghost town palette they used an oil (iirc it was a prickly pear?) from that region & do that with every new palette. Pretty cool, but it makes the shimmer formula in particular vary from palette to palette & I don't think many realize. I'm a nerd when it comes to formulation. I'm an amateur cosmetic chemist! 😅 *I hope you do reach out to er about the pixie petal replacement also exploding! I have tips for fixing it, but you should still let them know even if you don't expect replacement. They need to reformulate.

That is really cool, but I can see how that could also cause them to kind of be unpredictable in knowing what to expect. But I love that they do that honestly, just incorporating the destinations even more!

I really wanted to try er when lands of enchantment came out, i lovvvve that color story. However, i didn't like that there seemed to be overlap in the mattes & the palette is so expensive. Then all the drama happened with them using ai generated artwork. I can't in good faith endorse it. The cold moon is right up my alley & light in your eyes is so beautiful too! I wish they'd edit themselves a bit tbh. Every palette doesn't need to be so big. I think the sweet spot for an interesting well curated story is around 15-21 shades. Thanks for the content, & if you want pointers on fixing that shade lmk!

@@blendofdays yes I like there 21 pan palettes best, but even some of those have too many repetitive shades! I know the newest light in your eyes palette they used an artist for the art work so hopefully that means moving forward that is what they will be doing 🤞🏻

I suspected you would get rid of some PMG Palettes, just based on the way you talked about them when you used them in videos. But I'm surprised you purge all of them. I never had a Mothership Palette in my collection, but I probably wouldn't use it either, if I had one. While some enjoy the huge, heavy packaging, for me that would be cumbersome to use. The biggest drawback for me is that I wouldn't be able to easily remove the pans and mix and match them with the rest of my collection.

@@imaginarycosmetics yes on one hand I enjoy the packaging but on the other it honestly is too bulky and heavy to really hold and deal with when doing your makeup. I found myself having to use a different mirror when using them and I don’t usually do that unless a palette doesn’t come with a mirror!

@@the_makeup_tax_lady yes I think PMG is great, but I think formulas have come a long way since she started the motherships and there are honestly better formulas out there now. I like the new Ensley Reign release, I’m just putting it on the wishlist for now and debating it. I want to look at my collection a little closer because I do feel I can easily dupe the palette. But on the other hand it would fit my criteria for purchasing palettes because I think it would take me over four palettes to dupe it. I also plan on purchasing the new belle beute bar palette coming out Friday the 6th because I love the dusty blue/purple color story. It’s definitely something I love and would use a lot. I’m waiting for swatches still but I’m planning on getting that right away, so I’m holding off on the Ensley reign for now!

Omg crazy. I only have 3 pat mcgrath palettes. 2 motherships and 1 holiday. I NEVER reach for them. I was just thinking about decluttering them. But I was feeling apprehensive about it. I think you have just inspired me! I really don’t need to be keeping palettes around just because they were expensive. If I don’t need them then good buy lol. Omg! lol as I continued watching I realized you had the same opinion as me with the midnight sun. That olive green is one of my favorites and probably the reason I will keep that palette. I really dislike the divine rose palette I have. That’s for sure out. And definitely the holiday palette.

@@user-kr911 yes they are expensive and honestly why I kept them but I never reach for them and I just think why keep them around taking up space when I have other things I enjoy and actually use regularly! And yes that olive green is so beautiful, thankfully I do have some other olive greens I love. Not in that same texture but still gives me that beautiful olive color ❤️

I REALLY want the cold moon but dont know if theyre gonna mark it down for black friday… i also want the land of enchantment but it is huge and i figured liked u said it has some repeat shades in there and i dont like that. Unpopular opinion: i really like the ai and thats the reason why i feel i need to buy it soon cuz i heard theyre going to take away the ai but i really hope they dont change the old ones like land of enchantment. Is it your fav pastel palette? How would u recommend it based of color story differing from other pastels?

@@stephfoshoworld so I really don’t have any other pastels in my collection. I have some single shadows from lethal cosmetics that maybe would count as pastel but the Lands of Enchantment palette is really my only pastel shades and I really like them. There are those couple in the palette that I wish they would have made more different because I think they are too similar, but I have never had any issues with them. They build up nicely and I can get pigmented looks with them and I do really enjoy the shades they chose to have in the palette! I also really love the cold moon palette and it would be great if they put that on sale for BF so you could snag it because it is beautiful ☺️

My Pixie Petal (flutter) has stayed in tact. Sorry about yours. Mine isn’t like the other shimmers in that palette; it has more of the texture similar to Flannel or Sweater Weather (harvest moon)

Their shipping is $13 add the route and tax and it’s over $40 for a six pan that has 2 shimmers. I will pass.

@@pilcas1 yes that is a good point and a lot for a 6 pan palette. I still think they should have released all of them at once and then had bundles where if you bought 3 it saved x amount, 4 x amount, etc. up to if you bought all 9 instead of it being $234 it was $190 or something like that! I think people would have maybe enjoyed that better, getting to see all of them at once and mixing and matching what they wanted to bundle to save money because paying for shipping and tax each month on the new 6 pan is a lot

@@EdenBaynes I’m assuming it’s just a Black Friday sale but I have no idea! I’m glad you don’t have any issues with yours, I honestly don’t know what is wrong with that one shade. From the beginning I wondered if it was pressed differently because the formula is like many other shades I have from them and I’ve never had any issues with breaking or crumbling or exploding in the other shades so not sure what the deal is. It was quite the mess though 🤦🏼♀️

Harvest Moon is my favorite and I think my least favorite is probably Flourish, just cuz those mattes don't show up on me really well but I love the shimmers. Shimmers are what I buy ER for anyway.

I think they curate the color stories well enough to where it feels more like a 12-15 pan palette for me personally and I love that. And so far the smaller pans haven’t been anything great in my opinion and I haven’t had great luck with my Flutter palette that I do enjoy!
