Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Hey Doc, I’m having issues when I’m on my knees and sit back onto my feet, or deep squat, my outer knee pops. Any idea what it is? I’ve had a mri with no ligament damage. I’m hoping to pin point what it is so I can watch more videos how to strengthen it. Thanks

So I watched a different video on this. Similar movement. Gave it a try. And in the middle heard a loud pop noise. Just a warning to people. I guess it's possible to hurt yourself 😅.

Thank you for this Dr. BB! I have some questions about my IT band issue. I've experienced what I initially thought were nerve problems, but MRI and X-ray results have ruled that out. It’s now believed to be related to the IT band, with irritation affecting the surrounding nerves. I’ve been advised to try foam rolling or lymphatic massage, but the area around and above my knee (on the outer side) is extremely tender, making these techniques very painful. The issue used to be much worse-it would cause a popping sensation along my outer thigh when I got into a plank, lay on my back, bend upward, or perform other certain positions. While it has improved over the past few months, I’m still very cautious about that area during exercises. I have physical therapy scheduled for January and plan to try cupping in the meantime. I’m not sure how to incorporate tapping into my recovery. My main question is: how will I know when the area has fully healed? I’ve been so guarded about it and that popping sensation. Are there any strengthening exercises I can do to help restore balance and stability in that area? Thank you so much for this video-I’ve been dealing with this issue for years, and I’m hopeful this information will help!

@ I was rude, forgive me. I also appreciate you saying nobody really knows for sure, because you’re absolutely right about that. (Catch the reference???) I mean that sincerely though the body is a complex set of strings and everyone has a different movement pattern for different reasons. I’m not trying to mansplain to a Doctor forgive me for that but I came across your video because I slid on some ice on stairs, didn’t fall, torqued my leg to NOT fall, but an audible pop like an ACL pop banger my friend heard it and she was inside. Obviously painful then and still is. A lot of sagittal sitting at a desk for years my legs feel like they’re made of glass and sure enough I was correct they are but what I don’t understand is where the trauma is. This is an underuse injury not an overuse like runners get as you mentioned in the video. If we can truce and accept my apology for being rude, perhaps you can give me insight into what “popped”. Lateral hip, south end of the hip, tipppy top of the quad.
@drbeaubeardАй бұрын
I have no clue what popped, again I don't know, that's why we reserve an hour for every new patient exam. Advice with examination isn't worth much. Best of luck.

It’s interesting how you start off with some esoteric code in the beginning of the video that no viewer will understand and then say “I don’t know…sub dermis layers, maybe something idk.” Do you know anything? Or are you just stoked on getting a B- on your last test in IT Band 101?
@drbeaubeardАй бұрын
I guess you missed the entire part of the peripheral nerve sensitization...also, that esoteric code was explained 5 seconds after I brought it up. Thank you for input, really brought the level of the conversation up haha. Also, when I say 'maybe' or 'possibly' that is because no one knows for sure, that's the problem. Too many people speak in absolute, and usually those people have no clue what's going on. Keep on trollin' Ryan, seems to be working out great for...

I am a personal trainer, and have some of my own issues (like jaw imbalances and trigger finger), as well as many clients who have more severe issues with joints and muscles. In my experience training clients with muscular, neuromuscular, and joint issues, it saddens me when they express previous beliefs that their condition was simply permanent. I've heard clinicians firsthand say "You'll just have to deal with it". Not only is this extremely defeating... it's untrue! Wolf's Law and Davis's Law explain so succinctly how tissue can change. Severity and age can affect prognosis, especially in terms of duration and effort, but the body is so dynamic, it is always capable of remodelling to at least some degree. Ignorance of these truths suggests someone who is, as Ayn Rand would say, "severely conceptually limited".

What does the band on feet do?
@stale-chips2 ай бұрын
He said that some research has shown that putting it on the feet creates better lateral glute activation, and some people may need that cue on their feet (probably because it allows them to feel the targeted muscle more). He also says it can be used for other exercises like lateral steps. He says all of this starting at 1:06.
