so so sad, Im in tears I watched it being built as a kid. I even had the pleasure of going on the roof many years with the building manager and I still have the book and the blue prints of the building. I was so upset I travelled from where I live now and went to the demolition site screaming at them to leave him alone, I was a right mess, he did put up a really strong fight, However I do have a one of his bricks from the wall side as I asked for a piece of him. I will always still be with him in a way. RIP Eagle Building (the icon).

This is so sad on so many levels. We really do not have the right to abuse nature like this. We are part of nature not separate form it. Any one moving into these new house should be thoroughly shamed of them selves. They part took in the destruction of nature. The very thing that provided every single thing we need to survive. Food water and air. I don't have a solution to the greed. But for goodness sake .. Build Upwards rather than outwards. What the point of having children and passing on your genes when down they line there wont be enough nature to support their very survival. We already use more than 50 precent of earths land for human consumption. We already take more replenishable resource from nature than it can actually provide in 1 year. We use it all up in 8 months then starting taking form next year leaving less capability of replenishment than the previous year. We are borrowing from the future for today thinking some how nature will readdress the balance for our sole benefit. Ecological debt will eventaully collapse the whole system. It will reset it will do that but we will not be part of what survives and comes out the other side. SO I ask again why bother having children when clearly we don't care enough to ensure their needs are met in the future. Now that we know this lets just ruin it anyway right lets go out in style and stick to finger up at the future.

I would like to see one physical check out open till 10.30 for those that can only do a weekly shop when the kids are asleep, I had to spend 40 mins with a trolley load going through self service. The poor lady had to come over around 20 times when it would not weigh it correctly! absolutely nightmare. Or at least a sign saying if you have a large trolley ask a member in store to open a checkout.

Probably a picnic area with parking makes the most sense, it won't require much construction and lots of people would likely use it
