Don, this is one gentleman, Bill Petruk (violin and sax) that myself and my dad actually played with at many, many weddings and functions! This is as close to what it sounded like when I played in a band. Haha, we lived in Willingdon at the time with the Willingdon Polka!

I bet it was something to see a veteran violinist like John Kinasewich with a younger group of musicians.Glad you enjoyed it..
@oldschoolmusicdj21 күн бұрын
@@polkadondb305 Actually, I did have the opportunity to jam on accordion with John Kinasewich, along with my dad on cymbaly in the 70's many times! Often it would be just a casual evening at the farm house near Willingdon, very easy going, some whisky and Coke's happening as well! At this age, playing meant a lot to me as a kid that groomed me today that keeps my interest in this music so alive. By the way, I still have the Cymbaly that John K built for my dad!

I found you today and am having a marathon of waltz and polka music! Such fun and joy! When I was a girl my small village had a band that only played polkas and marches. I played in it for a while. It mostly consisted of old men and young music students from the school. It was called the Farmer's Band and did concerts at the school and a few other places and then marched in all the local parades around the county. Thank you for putting all these out here!
