I have been cruising for 15 years and today stumbled upon your channel. Really, really like it, and especially little talking part of it. Also, no stupid videos about senseless boat repairs (“ in today’s episode we are going to show you how to replace a lightbulb “). Keep up with good recording and enjoy Gina Yala . While in the US Army, I went through Jungle School at Fort Sherman in 1976. They told us then to stay out of Colon because it was 'crime-ridden, filthy, and poverty-stricken'. Sad. The Fort San Lorenzo is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

I have eight 100W panels but I’ve never seen more than about 250W come from them. Two are very old and the flexible ones don’t seem to be too efficient. Don’t know I’ll tackle it this year but I’d like to replace all of them with hard panels

I have recently moved to Panama and it amazes me that there are so many abandoned houses, factories, buildings, resorts, apartment blocks, etc. in Panama. It is as though no one does any research as to the viability or demand for these projects and so they fail.

Mexico is the same way. Things are built cheaply and poorly, and when they start to fall apart, they're just abandoned

People buy into a tropical dream. People get sold a tropical dream. Yes, it can be beneficial to buy these properties while they are dirt cheap because they're so remote, but it can take decades for society and development to catch up to these areas to allow a profitable business. In the meantime, people exhaust their funds and are forced to close up shop. It's a nice dream, and it sounds great when you're discussing it over drinks with a local realtor under the palm trees and beautiful ocean view. My father-in-law who has lived in Panama for 45 years likes to use the phrase "...they're selling the dream..." when he sees people viewing properties in Panama with a realty company. "It's easy to buy in Panama but hard to sell in Panama" is a fact that must be taken to heart when buying property in Panama or other countries. Think long and hard about all the factors, and know that it could take years to sell your dream property should you want or need to. Rent or go small ($) if you want a piece of the tropics. If it works out, great. If not, at least you will not have tanked your retirement funds on a dream that did not work out for whatever reason...
