My grandmother who would be 149yrs old if she'd lived, taught us when we were children, these very old African-Negro spirituals as soon as we could talk. She said she learned them from her Mom, grandma & older family members going back to 1833. Some family & community leaders were hung to death for singing them. Now, the very people who killed them are now singing and using these songs without guving proper historical info about their origin nor their history. Shameful to say the least and getting paid to sing and use them without giving credit to their origins!! 😢😢😢

As a Christian, I am bothered by the way you handle your stress as a pastor's wife. Before you react, let me educate you about the Johari window. The Johari Window is divided into four key quadrants: the Open Area (things you and others know about yourself), the Blind Area (things that others know about you, but you are unaware of), the Hidden Area (things you know about yourself, but others don't), and the Unknown Area (things that unknown to you and to others) ... As someone who has been observing everything since day 1, let me point out that I do understand your frustrations and anger. You're in a situation where you feel hopeless and judged by many. It is a very difficult situation. Now let me tell you what I see in you and perhaps, you're not aware of. You are arrogant, defensive, sarcastic and a trouble-maker. For a pastor's wife, I'm surprised that you use cuss words such as "$ti!nk¥ $h!t" and call people names such as "g@g@, uL○L, B○b●... Now you cannot justify your behaviour and action to "being human". You have a calling and that's being a pastor's wife. Much is expected of you because your husband is supposed to help lead the people to Jesus. Proverbs 15:32 says, “Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.” 1. Get off social media. This is the time to humble yourself before the Lord and devote yourself in prayer. This is not the time to pick a fight to those who comment on your very public fb page. You call the people Marites but you should know by now that natural lang sa tao ang gumawa ng sariling conclusion nila. Whether they're right or wrong, huwag kang magalit. It's their opinion. If you don't want to read their condescending comments, put your fb on private. Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. Accusing people on fb, mga parinig, yung tinatawag mong mga marites, etc... are all a reflection of your lack of faith in Jesus. Don't post ng kung anu-ano sa fb. Don't give people the chance to say things against a pastor's wife. You are a representative of God. Your actions will not only cause your husband's downfall but also the faithful believers of your church. Your actions can potentially discourage those are planning to give their lives to Jesus. Your actions can potentially cause unbelievers to criticize the believers. How can they win others in Christ kung yung nakikita nila sa'yo is the opposite of the love of God? James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 2. Don't call people names. Don't fight with them. Don't be sarcastic. That's not how a Christian should respond. Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Romans 12:17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. Huwag mo silang awayin. Neither should you respond sarcastically. You told one of them na 'ikaw na ang perfect mother". You even claim to be maldita. Are you serious?! Your excuse as being only human is not acceptable dahil pastor's wife ka. You have a duty to God and the church. If you can't fulfil that, then your church needs to reconsider your family's appointment as a leader in church. Proverbs 17:14 The beginning of strife is like letting out water, so quit before the quarrel breaks out. 3. Respond in love. Don't express your thoughts and feelings for everyone to see and read. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
