I went to Evergreen from 1977 to 1981-- and it was a worthless waste of time and money with faculty members who were the most pompous, ignorant know-it-alls I have ever met before or since..

Guys Kaya is not your typical student at HSU. When I went there is maybe 1 out of 100 people like him that sport the hippie/skater lifestyle. That is taking frequent trips to the woods or the stairwell, dancing and playing drums in the park, and generally living under the radar. When I went I really had no idea that was the stigma. I chose HSU because of the redwoods. I fell in love with the scenery. The people here are great, and my best friends are ones I've known through College and met in Humboldt 10 years later.

I've studied Marx extensively and see nothing untoward in that slogan. I went to a uc school. I wish someone had told me to go to s school like that when I was in high school. I didnt know any better I just listened to my parents. I am thinking about reed now for a graduate degree.

HSU is amazing. Great professors and really a great education. Not all of the students are stoners and not all stoners are are slackers, js.

Looking back I can honestly say I made the wrong choice to go here for undergrad. If you are a foreign student, it is better to go to a state university in order to acquaint yourself with American culture and mindset and where you can be young and carefree without making any mistakes that attract serious consequences. Go to a private university for your postgrad education.
