I visited First Presbyterian in ‘95 during a trip to Topeka to see The Treasures of the Czars exhibit. Of course there’s no comparison between the two, they’re worlds apart, but nearly thirty-five later, the windows are the most firmly fixed in my memory. It was a sunny day, the glass was beautifully lit. When I go to my “happy place” in my mind, it’s almost always to First Presbyterian. I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’m fortunate that I didn’t have to choose between the two exhibits, but if I had had to choose between them, in hindsight, I’d opt to see these gorgeous, timeless works out here on the prairie.

should not prophesize without a head covering, should not preach to a man or hold position in the church. 🧕🏼✝ 🤷🏼♀ That what GOD want us to do has women!!! You want to serve him and have a title? Be a nun .

In ancient Rome, Peter would get a new convert, who has previously, been having people thrown to the Lions or else Crucified. In the catacombs, during prayers and communion, the Christians got together and cursed everyone persecuting Christians, all over Rome. They swore to God that they would curse them for eternity, and prayed that they be damned to hell. Peter would get his newly baptized convert and he brought them into the catacombs, to meet the others. While Peter was gone, the newcomer, would hear his name mentioned, among those being cursed; and oaths made unto God, to curse them forever. That is the origin of the phase, "Cursing and Swearing." It has nothing to do with vulgarity. So Peter didn't sanction vulgarity. It was the swearing to God that these people be cursed and not forgiven that was the issue. The Russian Orthodox Church teaches that violence against someone is cursing and swearing. They curse at someone with the threat by saying, "Your mother and three graves." Jesus went off violently on the Money Changers and attacked them with whips. Ask a Russian Priest, was that action done by Jesus, Cursing and Swearing? They'll answer you, "Yes." No man is above his master. Jesus is a door to enter through, to get into heaven. Going through that door, you'll become just like Him. I can say, that Door curses and swears, and so teaches the Priests of the Orthodox Churches. "Not have I come to spread peace, but rather a sword."

Thank you! Thank you, Jeremiah, Jason, and Pat for sharing your testimonies and faith journeys. A special message to Jeremiah: I am so proud of you for having the courage to share your faith journey. You are a truly special young man and I know you will do great things in this world. A special message to Jason: Thank you for your bravery, honesty, and vulnerability in sharing your story. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you sharing your message did in fact help someone and will continue to help others. A special message to Pat: There are no words adequate enough to express the gratitude my family has for you and everything you have done for the youth in, not just FPC, but in the community as a whole. Your kind and loving guidance has helped shape the lives of so many young people in their own faith journeys. We are grateful for you and the other youth group helpers. May you all be blessed and continue being a blessing to others.

Wonderful testimonies today. What powerful messages for us to hear. God uses all of us to spread his message. We could all learn from these testimonies today. Thank you to Jeremiah, Jason, and Pat for sharing. w

There is no reason for any Christian to follow an evil 16th century French lawyer.

Janet and Neil, So good to see you. We appreciated these words. We were just talking about how cute your son was. We would like to see him grown up. And we found this on a web search. I often think about you helping me with the Scripture Song album I did. I am about to quit playing the guitar and singing. This may be my swan song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/amK6hIiba5qKjq8 Blessin's from Kerrville, Carol and Robby Carpenter

evangelism .......Angels preaching the gospel for mankind . Then it was given to man to preach the good news. Did not angels announce the gospel of God that Christ had risen? Old law has passed and the New Covenant is now in full force.

It would help if the words written on the windows were read as written in the King James Version as written instead of a newer version.
