I want to export rainfall data in 15 minute intervals from a Watchdog 3000 which has a modem connection to SpecConnect. The Station is set to record every 15mins but specconnect seems only able to issue hourly data as a minimum period...

This is a technical video ?, 33 seconds, very bad because it does not show a complete video because you choose one option or another, with clip for rechargeable batteries or direct modem power. They should make a stronger modem, those Datascout are toys, any other brand is superior to this.

What is the possible technical problem that a DataScout GSM modem stops sending data for no reason, there is a good signal, 80% battery, do you have any more technical manual? or just this www.specmeters.com/assets/1/22/Data_Scout_Modem1.pdf, which does not contribute anything, update your manuals and make it as understandable as possible ..

how does the resistance reading correspond to the centabar scale? Is it linear, log? What is a typical impedance of the sensor and how can the readings be affected by nicks or abrasion in the wires?

So, I followed these instructions, put the tip in the buffer solution, watched it while I waited, and it simply goes all the way up to 12.86, then goes blank. I have read and re-read the instructions, as well as watched this video several times through. I cannot seem to find anything I am doing wrong. Did I get a faulty meter?

I don't have this. I decided not to buy it. If I were to buy one, I'd probably buy a Lamotte, the one with a direct soil probe. I didn't buy that either, because it's so expensive. I'm just a home gardener.

I loved that cross contamination between the buffer solutions. That "DI" water has a pH value too...should have dried the meter before putting into the next buffer solution.

whew!! the batteries alone will cost $15 to $20 a year. It should have been designed for either a 9V battery or 4 AA batteries.

That's utter nonsense. A 4-pack of 2032's cost $4.85 to your door on Amazon. It's very difficult to believe you'd use more than a single set of batteries per year.
