This may have been done before they said so, but I’m pretty sure you’re explicitly banned from installing this equipment under stairs in any new install

Indeed it has been there for near on 2 years now. The PAS 63100 document that came out recently I think you are referring to does have excellent guidance and I agree should be where practically possible the minimum standard we design and install too now. I would prefer to relocate this setup but there isn’t many better options. we have double boarded to provide 1 hr fire protection with interlinked smoke detectors, it is also not adjacent final exit routes and there is alternative means of escape. Certainly welcome your comments as I feel we should always be looking to improve standards and safety. hope the video was also in some way useful to you 🙏

Enphase are behind if you can direct charge the batteries aswell as use the inverter the level of solar use could be alot higher without a bigger inverter
@eastrenewables23 күн бұрын
I haven’t totally understood your reply but I think you are saying as there is no direct DC power to the battery the micro inverters are having to work to their maximum whereas a typical hybrid system would direct excess solar DC straight to the battery. Fairly new to Enphase with only one install to now. let me know if I understood your response correctly 🙏

What a complete shit show, this is really not acceptable but its not just Ford its all of the manufacturers. They are clearly not making vans or cars to last. My turbo failed on a 3 year Renault with 26000 miles and I was quoted £6500 to fix it and because of the amount of work involved no garage waited to know.
@eastrenewables29 күн бұрын
very much into that throw away life if it breaks chuck it in the bin. just the other day my heating controller failed but a simple bit of soldering on the ethernet port was all that was required to fix and about 15 minutes of time

Nice video. Question, can you use the ET340 to measure 2 AC loads (not grid)? eg 2 separate PV systems?
@eastrenewables2 ай бұрын
Thanks 🙏 Great question so I am currently using it to measure separate AC loads such as Hot water and EV Charger. Whilst these don’t appear in the main screen of VRM the data can be shown in the advanced section. As regards to measuring 2 PV inverters I haven’t tried it but can’t see why not it would likely combine the data on the VRM dashboard as 1 PV inverter but it would be treating it almost like a 3 phase meter

FORD is simple the worst company to work with. Last year I leave my Focus Titanium because the transmission just die (that famous PowerShift DTS6 with fabric defective). It took 10 months with A LOT of fight to the warranty be applied and when FORD give me back my car I discovered that they flooded my car… so, just another fight… FORD are simply a dishonest company to deal with. I hope the best for your case.

whats the max number of panels that a 5kw libbi can take ?
@eastrenewables3 ай бұрын
The max recommended PV power per string is 3750w so realistically you could put 8 or 9 panels on each string at a push. String Voltage must not exceed 560v and should be lower for a margin of safety. When the libbi was first launched they reduced the number of panels it could take but then later revised this so its worth looking at the latest datasheet and also contact myenergi to confirm

Ive always bought Ford commercials from the mk5 transit up to date … but im honestly thinking they’ve forgotten how to build vans. With the irritating design errors to the 2.0 engine with the daft wet belt system. And now the loony price of the new custom. Its disappointing

Honestly would never buy another ford, even their dealerships have a low opinion on the build quality and support from Ford themselves, that speaks volumes to me
@Stillbusy1055 ай бұрын
Any updates. Did you finally get rid of that Ford? Did they pay up too?
@eastrenewables5 ай бұрын
So in the end Ford brought it back from me at a slight loss and out of pocket for a few other bits but my hand was forced by them refusing to do any more and taking the hire van off me with threats of action and additional costs if I refused to accept their offer. They are a bad company and would never ever in my life buy another Ford. I will make a follow up video soon.

Nice set up. On shading, I have discovered the same issue. Seems to be that panels only pass the maximum amperage available on the string since the MPPT is sweeping what IS connected to it. So if one panel has only 1A available, then the entire system seems to want to pass 1A when connected in parallel. I have four panels on two series / parallel strings too on one controller and got more or less the same results. I have since split up my arrays and use multiple controllers to minimize the solar salad MPPT sweeps. Ironically, I have one array that has 6 100w panels in series and on even on partly cloudy days in Michigan it can perform better than the 4 300 watt series / parallel strings! Weird for sure.....cheers, Gary
