I love the game, its unfinished but irs what i want as an mmo.

lol just like EQ, wearing boiled leather for 40 levels. Tanks wearing banded mail until level 50.

What boggles my mind is that I can't put the game down... it's just like when I was a kid, excited to get home from school to play EverQuest. This is the EXACT same feeling and I haven't experienced that 20+ years. And to think, this current Early Access is just another stage of their development process and not a soft launch of the game. Imagine what the full release will feel like. See ya'll in Terminus and I appreciate this amazing community of players!

how is shaman? do you enjoy it, or any other classes?

This game is just Everquest with tiny little differences, but it is 95% the same game, with graphics that are maybe on par with Everquest 2? 25 years later, 10 years of development, people donating thousands of dollars and the result is EQ 1.1 Of course, people are disappointed!!!

I`m not concerned about graphics myself, and the game looks like a fun experience. Many people need to realize that the finished product of MMO is still far off.

I see you guys started to chip at regular low level group content. You'll soon understand how badly balanced is group content. Now imagine haveing those repop on you and pulling multiples ;) Hopefully they rethink the system. 1vs 6 balance on solo mobs is not the way.

Slow progression MMO's are dead for a reason

I can understand how someone new would really be pleased, pays $40 and gets to start off in the state that it is of early access. But for someone who may have paid $750 for all-access only 1 year ago, probably wish they saved their money.

We expect so little because there is a lack of new content. So anything at all is something at this point. I thought Pantheon was trash when I tried it. It’s literally living on the coat tails of EQ. Ten years and that’s all they have to show for It. It’s dated, and unrefined no doubt. I feel it’s literally just a money grab by the developers one last time. I have had high hopes from the beginning but I gave up on it 5 years ago. Think about it…. It’s early access ten years in. Ten years from now will we still be saying oh, it’s early access….LOL

In what way did they change the graphics?

Some people dropped alot of money into the game like 3-500 at least, some 1500. I just don't think anyone expected this game to progress only this far in about 10 years. Brad dying was a huge blow and IMO they still haven't recovered. I downloaded it and am having fun, but it's wearing a little on me just after 3 days.

I wish I could get my supporter money back from this game. I dont mind that you have to group, that is is catered to old school MMO players, or that there isn't much content. None of those things bother me in the least bit. The issue is, their vision of this game and what they put out, are completely different. Its more than obvious that their funding was running low, people were getting impatient, and they simply had to put it out or disband the project. They even tried to put out an alternative to the game with a dungeon crawler mode, but people were furious. The graphics were planned to be MUCH better than they are, but then they said they wanted to go another direction with an overhaul....which is code for "its going to take too much time and money to do it the way we planned." What did we end up with? This piece of garbage. I may get alot of grief for posting this, but this game is going to end up like all the other failed MMOs. It will be a small hardcore playerbase barely keeping it alive until they sell it or close the doors.

Having a blast so far, i really hope they deliver! 10 years was a pain of a wait...

Bro that Character creator is the worst first impression ever. And if your playing in wilds end it can be real tough to get a group in a game built around grouping

Guy is grouping on solo content and position himself has an harcore player wondering why people critic (righfully so) the game.

I think most of the hate comes from misguided places. I see a lot hate about the graphics, which I can understand given this game has been in development going on 11 years and its still using marketplace assets. That being said, I dont think graphics are super important. The biggest issue I can see is lack of content at this point for how long its been in development, and the very obvious jank in the games systems. I'd like to play it, I miss these style of MMOs. FF11 was my favorite. I just dont know if the price is justified for where the game is at. I could go play Embers and get this style of gameplay with more fleshed out systems and content for much cheaper.

No Map is a very big let down but the rest of the game looks fantastic.

It's been a long haul... the first time i covered the game was way back in December of 2013 😳 but they've had to endure quite a bit of hardship. There's a lot of bad blood around the game going way back. They made mistakes. But supporting them makes more sense than the people who are hoping to watch it fail. We all win if they can pull through. We don't have many options in this classic genre today.

LOL this is a nitch game and not everyone going to like it, EQ wasn't liked and main stream until there was a massive online resources to show maps and guides. I love it sorts out the stupid people I like a game that bites back when you fuck up. and please remeber this game isn't complete game release.

The hating trolls of Pantheon are largely the P1999 purist robots, who feel threatened by an actual competitor to "classical everquest". These EQ players are the type burnt by Vanguard, EQ2, EQNext and Landmark. And so they spout venom and nonsense like "omg this game is vaporware and been in development for 10 years!". Starting the dev timer at the - announcement of the kickstarter - (which didnt fund) is a failure of 3rd grade logic and math. MMOs take a long time to make. Pantheon is doing astonishingly well, considering covid, the passing of McQuaid, and the ups and downs of crowdfunding. Theyve been calling Pantheon vaporware for a long long time. Because it’s hard. There’s no hand holding and you have consequences for bad decisions. Graphics mean nothing without content and thought.

if you have a group its great, if you have to solo its not good, crafting is difficult if you are a woodsman, trees are few and far between. Crafting timer needs to be shortened drastically. Readiness could also be a tad cheaper for the classes that use it. Otherwise it's fun!

Even though shaman heals don't mix two shamans is better than 1 and your secondary shaman can do DoTs and debuffs it can be pretty effective

EQ flashbacks. Looks like you are not able to solo in any way or am I wrong. Down time mana and health seems painfull like EQ.

Enchanter is super useful in this cave really saves your butt when adds come, dual healer isn't a bad idea, having sufficient dps is also essential

soo tried it out and solo is sucky as can be. Resists are a big thing apparently for only one lvl higher. Good thing you group with friends...

I understand the appetite for old school mmos with more incentive to grouping and belonging to a guild, a more social experience. That is really great. But surely we can do better than just reverting back to the old Everquest? I mean this is EQ 1.1 and it could have been released as is in 2005. The combat is awful, the animations are awful, the graphics of EQ2 are better. Nostalgia is powerful for sure, but man we should really aspire for better than this ancient piece of software.

Ya i just made a shaman and found that guy no problem, i think the necro start area doesn't have a quest person! I wanted to play necro but ill have to wait then, sucks with no quests.

I started a necro only level 2 ive died only once. No quests in my starting area is a bit of a downer.
