“ he’s not fighting it “ what? The horse just moved its head away from you to avoid you tying his tongue. The reason horses put their tongue over the bit is to avoid pressure and pain that the rider inflicts into the sensitive mouth of a horse when using either too heavy of a hand or too harsh of a bit.

God awful people own racehorses now. Going racing now, you may as well be in Primark or on a council estate!!
@newmarkethorsetownАй бұрын
That's a vast generalisation. Racing has always been a sport for Kings; James I lived in Newmarket, as did Charles II. Now, racing is much more accessible through syndication.

Where's the pony mentioned in the caption?
@newmarkethorsetown3 ай бұрын
Angus is known as a pony as he's not a thoroughbred. For Ascot he helped Amy Murphy and Wesley Ward.
@Regzy59943 ай бұрын
Is that Angus? 😂
@newmarkethorsetown3 ай бұрын
Yes, that is Angus who has now gone back to his home at Far Westfield Farm after escorting the thoroughbreds at Ascot.

They are bloodstock records so Louis can refer back to the bloodline when advising on buying at the sales. Maybe try libraries?

I have a question being I’m new to thoroughbred and horse racing, I was always taught that you don’t get on a horse until age 4 yrs maybe even 3 yrs being slightly too young. Because they are growing and you can damage the horse for life. Are the rules different for race horses? If so please explain? Other breeds that get started with a rider don’t get ridden longer than 10 minutes.
@ambersemona96766 ай бұрын
New subscriber but I have to admit watching my first video I almost unsubscribed because of the music. It’s so loud. Besides that You pulled on my ❤ strings lol after hearing you are keeping your retired racehorse. Here in the USA, unfortunately, horse racing behind-the-scenes has become horrific when it comes to “retiring” their horse, which actually means trying to gets every last $ for the horse and now the horse is lame they can only find kill buyers to pay. ends up in the slaughterhouse, if only all owners would commit to their responsibility ❗️The horse didn’t have a choice. But the owner does! If you love horses why don’t these people do what’s only right?!! . 🥺🐎🫶🏼🐎🫶🏼🐎🫶🏼

Unless the horse has a respiratory condition which prohibits the use of straw, or they eat their beds, (normally out of boredom) then a deep bed with good banks will help a cast horse right himself - not always, but there is a science behind such methods. Shavings, pellets, cardboard, and other modern bedding materials are used for efficient stable management for the human, (equally, space saving, muck heap management, and financial implications) - not always for the horse. However, horses, no matter what, will find a way to injure themselves!
