Not everyones experience was positive. Stationed at VC-8 1975 thru 1977. Commanding Officer and other officers were assigned there as career punishment for serious infractions. Much abuse inflicted on enlisted ranks. Worked six months straight without a day off including extra duty watches every six days - patrolling the squadron perimeter eaten up with mimi's. A4's and P2'S were sabotaged with FOD in the engines, threatening notes left in Personnel Dept, threats of Captain Mast if heard discussing. Puerto Ricans hated military and personnel restricted to base after a Marines decapitated head was found on perimeter fencing. So many stories, so I guess it all depends on where and when you were assigned to at RR.

if you have a pc powerful enough you could try asgaards wrath sadly it does require you to be linked to your pc via link cable or airlink although if you are going to use airlink you nedd a pretty good/decent router as airlink relies on it. so asgaards wrath is all about nordic gods where you are a nordic god and you sort of posses people in need and help them through whatever they have a problem with and you have magical abilities and such i think it is really coll and it offers about 50 to 60 hours of play time

Thank you for this video. I'm going to send it to some of the older people in my life. It's so depressing seeing so many older people be like "it's so sad, kids and their VR goggles, they should go outside" right before spending a few hours watching TV. So, we are lazy and disconnected for loving VR, but it's ok for older people to consume non-interactive media while sitting down and not moving at all? Tho logic appears to be dramatically on the side of VR on that one.
@Liverpool1616

this is what I always say! I never ever watch MOVIES and very very few Tv shows. you literally sitting in front of tv being brain dead. Atleast VR or gaming is interactive and good for the brain in problem solving

@@Liverpool1616 mmm, I wouldn't say brain dead. Watch something like The Twilight Zone (not Twilight, my fellow zoomers) and it really is worth the time from an intellectual point of view. Documentaries exist too. But in comparison to VR, there's usually significantly less thought required while watching movies. A lot of modern TV shows are designed to be "sorta watched" (Police Squad was famously canceled very abruptly because they concluded that it required viewers to "pay too much attention" since so much of the comedy was visual). Movies at TV shows definately have their place, but the thing I take issue with is older people pretending that VR is more of a waste of time overall than TV. And of course there's plenty of trash VR games that you can truly waste your time with.

Hi, is the 50 watts tx power really makes a big difference to reach like a 15 miles distance on vhf using simplex? I have a ed fong dbj-1 antenna on the roof of my 2 storey house. Any thoughts.
@VicBils
@VicBils 10 ай бұрын
Every person's experience may be different as there are many variables that can affect your transmission. I've found that while I may be able to transmit 15 miles or more, my signal is stronger and audio clearer when I use higher power.

After removing the 319D diode for the lCOM 2730, the transmitter (TX) became permanently on. When I turn on the signal repeater. Is there a solution for that?

My dad was a Navy man. We lived there for three years, and I loved it so much except that he was gone on the ship for a year of it. I have amazing memories. We could see the ocean from our living room window and once my mother turned on the water in the tub to prepare for a hurricane and we all left the house to the grocery store😀. OOOOOPS! It was flooded when we got back! We had so much fun cleaning up that water. My dad was not happy. He got over it though. I believe I was 4 years old when we moved there. About 1963. Thank you for the video and the walk down memory lane!!!!

I live in Fajardo, this video is before it was left to nature. The only thing that is there is the ferry and National Guard! After Maria it closed off the road out toward the beach and officers club! I did get to go out there before Maria, but it was nothing like the video! Everything is run down and overgrown!

That was the enlisted beach when I was there in 84/85. We would go snorkeling out to that small island. assigned to the Hospitals Psych ward which had a large window which provided the best view on the base,you could see Vieques island from there. Fond memories.

Did a seven month deployment there in '85 with NMCB-3. I was on the crew the crew that built the "beach bandstand" at 11:00 in this video. Also did a short field exercise on Vieques..two nights I think. Drank alot of beer on that deployment...but of course that's what Seabees do.....drink beer and build things. Thanks for the video Vic.
