Your paintings are amazing and speak to me. I so admire them. I was so very lucky to meet you. And then one night I was remembering you and discovered sadly, you had passed. But you live on forever as a legacy like your mom and grandmother. How I wish someone would make a movie about your dynamic and profound history.

Helen Hardin moves me to tears. This is a fine little documentary. It does not mention that the traditional tribal elders and enforcers of her tribal community did not like her sharing the inner sacred spirits of their culture and made her life very difficult at times and relentlessly pressured her to not "reveal so much". Biographers of Helen almost always fail to mention or understand the price she paid to be who she was, who she needed to be, who we needed her to be... but she did pay that price. Thanks for this great little video about her.

Hi..Thank you....very educational. I love that grinding stone. Adding a modern Elmer’s glue is a good binder for the dry pigments that are thinned with water. This dries very fast, within an hour or less depending on amount of water. The old masters of European painting from the beginning of time mixed a glue made from boiled animal hides, cartilage, feet, etc. ...possibly the ancient American artists did the same.

Often times art is our only history! Just look at the pyramids of Egypt and how that art inside tells a story! If you destroy art, you destroy a generations legacy and existence! As I get older, the importance of art becomes more relevant! Silver and gold can always be melted down and reused over and over....art cannot be replaced!!!
