I saw big boy 4014 on her way to Hearne Tx on September 19th when she was heading to the Brazos rail yard and then later on Friday October 4th I caught her going down west 27th street in Bryan tx and then saw her cross the Navasota river bridge and even watched her leave Navasota and then met up with her in Hempstead. then went down to the heights in Houston to watch her go by and then while me and my dad were stuck in traffic we were getting close to the be someone bridge and even got to see 4014 cross the bridge I wish I could have gotten it on video but none the less it’s something that I will always remember. but then 10 minutes later me and my dad stopped by the track to watch her head past tower 26 for her private event that Union Pacific had been held Saturday in settegest railyard. and then on Sunday October 6th me and my dad headed down to Amtrak to see her on display and I even got to meet ED Dickens the engineer of big boy then on Monday October 7th went to Millican to watch her go by one of the crossings and then I got in my car and headed to college station to see her on display one last time and yeah I’m sorry if it seems like a lot of words but none the less it was awesome to see the Bigboy again and getting to meet the engineer of this awesome machine and this was my third time seeing it in Houston TX and hopefully it comes back again.

I saw 4014 in Navasota on her way to Houston on Friday and then again on her return Monday in Stoneham, Tx. Thanks to UP for bringing this mechanical monster back to life.

Why does Big Boy 4014 take diesel locomotive helper in some scenes?
@jeffgillis74533 ай бұрын
The diesel is there for dynamic braking and for emergency power if the 4014 has problems. My understanding is that the normal diesel #4015 which typically is part of this consist apparently broke down before the Bryan to Houston leg, so was set off and 4014 ran to Houston without the diesel.

That was honestly so cool seeing her without the diesel behind

Greetings from Pontassieve, province of Florence, Italy. I have a Suzuki Jimmy 4x4 with a 1.3 LT m13a petrol engine from 2001, all original, which I use to travel through fields, forests and mountains on agricultural and forestry roads used by logging companies.

Hey Jeff, I have a random question. I'm a backpacker and live in the area and want to visit an island just off the coast. Could I pay you or do you know of someone I could pay to drop me off and retrieve me? Maybe a few days apart

Thank you for showing what off road vehicle's can do. Most of the videos show a very modified vehicle on 40's with lockers going over trails. I was thinking about going to Hidden Falls. This looks like a great time.

That looks like the fuel island at that last marina just before you going to the gulf… It’s one of the large marinas in Galveston east of the main strip. I lived at geez I think it was called Captain‘s Cove on clear Lake in between South Shore and Kemah I’ve never been so broke and I’ve never been so happy as those years. I think it’s the Galveston Harbor Marina.

A two lane tollway.... really? At least have a concrete barrier like the Chrisholm Trail Parkway in Fort Worth because at that point, it's getting unsafe.
