I was focused on this new method, trying and experimenting a lot. First, when I was installing the PSBBN, it shows "No more space available" and change the PC and try another distro. Later I realized that my PSU have some issues and power down my HDD. Next, I can put some of my content inside and test. It worked and I went to put the rest of the content. All the partitions were corrupted. I change to other flavor of the same distro (xfce), and only gave me 1 game, and it was the LaunchELF, so rollback the distro and star from scratch again. Finally I could install everything, and test some features of that OPL fork. Settings of individual games are saved into the exFAT partition, and try PADEMU with some Guitar Hero games to use a modern guitar, it works even launching the games from the PSBBN. And test Half-Life PS2 with keyboard and mouse, it worked flawlessly. IDK if using PFS batchkit manager, it broke some thing in the APA partition, but I'm tired of messing with the PS2 HDD, maybe later. Thanks a lot for this method.

I assume this is why OPL is not loading the Game list at all? PSBBN is working though and games are found and can be started from the Game channel. Any feedback is much appreciated, happy holidays! 😊
@CosmicScaleFactor7 күн бұрын
You can start games from the game channel even after getting that error? If that is the case there's a problem with the verification check and not your drive and I'll have to look into that. For games to show in OPL you need to turn on HDD under BDM Devices in the OPL settings.
@trendafil.gechev7 күн бұрын
@@CosmicScaleFactor Yes, games start just fine. I have found a Reddit post (title: Question about Grimdoomers OPL and 2TB+ exfat drives. Buying advice?). In OPL settings I have set: BDM Start Mode: Auto Default Menu: BDM Games Still no games listed. Do I need to set the BDM prefix path as well? EDIT: Nevermind, actually had to disable the HDD start mode. Now games are shown.

@@CosmicScaleFactor Another issue is that OPL tries to save its settings to mass0 even though I have no USB drives connected, nor any memory cards. It says the save was successful, however, after reboot all settings are lost. The only thing I found online as a requirement is to have an OPL folder in any storage location so that it finds the folder and saves the settings to it. I saw that in wLaunchELF under hdd0 I cannot create new folders or rename the +OPL folder to OPL in order to test. Is this a known issue or is my PS2 somehow special since it does not want to save settings to the +OPL folder?
@CosmicScaleFactor7 күн бұрын
@@trendafil.gechev it's a known issue. You need to have a PS2 Memory Card inserted and it will save the settings to that. "mass0" is the exFAT partition on the internal HDD, it currently saves the settings there, it just can't load them.

The version of OPL you were using before did not support exFAT on an internal drive. Unfortunately your drive is using a 4,096B physical sector size, only a 512B physical sector size is compatible with the exFAT version of OPL. This video explain the issue in a bit more detail: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHzSg6mNgNSdsJIsi=hIrnvpj-kxElkOcP&t=260 As the script says, you have 2 options: 1. Try a different connection method, ideally connecting the drive directly to the PC with internal SATA as this is the most reliable option, or trying a different USB to SATA converter 2. Try a different drive. Some drives just have a 4,096B physical sector size and nothing can be done about that.

All of my collection worked fine with OPL, Pops, SMS, and other homebrew.. When I boot into FMCB to troubleshoot, I can see all partitions created. That is just how the game installer works. It synchronises the games from the folders on your PC to the PS2 drive. If you remove games from the 'games' folder on your PC, they are also removed from the PS2 drive. If you add games to the 'games' folder on your PC, they are added to the PS2 drive.
