How did you attach the velcro? My isup is made from pvc I was researching pvc and they say I have to get a piece of pvc material and sew the velcro to the pvc piece, then glue the pvc panel to the body of the isup.

Sorry, it was 8 years ago I don't remember. I know I used a self adhesive velcro and probably stuck it to the wood and sewed the other side to the material.

I have a 2019 hobie outback and I'm installing the same fishfinder on mine. I was just wondering where did you get that bumper piece for the transducer?

Came with the Outback when I purchased it from the dealer. I'm sure you could go on Hobie's website or dealer if you can't find it.

I'm looking to do the same on my outback with a 64cv. Did you use the RAM universal track ball mount for this? I'm having a hard time finding any info on which mount I need for a garmin echomap. Thanks.

Gabe I used RAM-111B-354-TRA1U mounts in the track. Simple holes lined up for the Garmin. Good luck.

Great Info. I used a razor knife and just cut the hole as big (rectangle, same place as yours) as I needed to fit the wire stub. Worked great. I also pushed mine up behind the nose piece very close and used a rectangular piece of flat aluminum and drilled a couple holes in that to use to put the first set of double screws from the front, I overlapped the plastic on both sides. It worked great. Rock solid. Thanks for the help!

Great video man. I bought my Hobie back in July. But couldn’t afford a fish finder. I very much planned on going with Lowrance because it is Hobie compatible I even bought a mount for the unit I wanted. Hook2 5 triple shot. My birthday is coming up in a 2 weeks and I go on vacation this next week so my wife and kids hooked me up with 400.00 in Bass pro shop gift cards early so I could use it on my vacation. The Lowrance unit I wanted was 429.. So when I got off work I checked the ad hoping it would be on sale. I saw the Garmin was on sale for 300 off. So I jumped on it. I’m about to go watch some more of your videos I hope to see your fish finder in action.

Great ideas Joe, you are absolutely right as far as there not being a whole lot of info out there for rigging up/customizing inflatable kayaks (IKs). Do you have any ideas for rigging up a skeg of some sort to improve tracking? I did it for one of my kayaks (a Sea Egle 330), but I'm planning on getting another IK (a sevylor) which comes without any sort of skeg and would like to make one. I will end up selling the 330 and getting two sevylor IKs (one for me and one for the wife) instead. On the sea eagle 330 there is some rope webbing in the front and rear of the kayak which I used to put a pvc piece through and then mounted two old paddles to each end of the pvc, which I can then lower up and down into the water to have a "duo-skeg" tracking mechanism. It works really well and was relative inexpensive to build. Like your kayak however, the sevylor has no attaching points in the rear, hence my question. Thanks!
@fishfortitle592010 жыл бұрын
My buddy had a Sevylor Rio which had eyelets that you could do a frame similar to what I have and mount it behind the seat and rig off that. Not sure if there are no mounting points tho

PVC for rod holders and heated the ends and pushed down on a beer bottle to flair the ends. Zip ties to attach to pack on back of the seat.

Looks like it did. Purchasing my first kayak (hard shell) soon but another inflatable from the one I had before should be a nice add on sooner then later I hope. Inflatable will be a kayak which I was looking at the Advance Elements Angler with no modifications really needed. I'll be doing that with the hard shells so figure just call it a day on DIY projects for a future inflatable *fishing* kayak. Tight lines to you.
