What do you think of the robot designs in the Transformers movies,particularly 1 through 5?

Got a friend who's not the best with names and doesn't intend on being a vtuber but hopes to sell art and get commissions online someday. They have one name in mind (especially because they can't think of anything else) and it somewhat fits since they haven't had any prior online business experience and they're returning to art just now. _They themselves doubt that anyone would want this but in case that's wrong, NO ONE ELSE STEAL IT:_ The name is "hidkwhatimdoing" or something spelled similar. idk is the acronym i don't know. If they were to make a greeting it'd be like "hi, don't know what i'm doiiing". If a person were to refer to them, it could be shortened and pronounced like "Hyde". Any thoughts or feedback? It's their only idea since they can't think of other names that are a play on words, gender neutral, and match how they're stepping into something new while hoping to upgrade and figure themselves out.

I'm like 3 months late on writing this but the point at 12:46 just kinda made me mad. If the models on the left are "correct" and the models on the right are "wrong" then you're essentially saying that no vtubers can ever have long hair or capes, aren't you? You mention that vtubers should try to find more creative and interesting ways to style their hair, which I agree with partially, but you also can't assume that NO ONE wants to or should have long hair, capes or long coats. Take Baelz and Ollie for example, great designs, yes, but if they came out with a new model with longer hair would that immediately invalidate their designs in your eyes? It shouldn't, because their designs would still be good, it just means that their silhouette becomes less recognizable... under a complete black filter, which they're never in. If your whole deal is wanting artists to be more creative and express themselves more freely, then isn't it hypocritical to essentially ban certain things from character designs? Especially things that are completely normal in both real life and in fiction? I don't know. I'm not a character design major but from this video I can tell it would probably be a waste of time. Also pastel and desaturated color schemes are pretty, I have no idea what you're on about.

i think for starting a model idea, i think vroid is great. so you can try out a basic idea and see how it works togheter. like color palet. hair and skin color. you do not need drawing skils. you can make a basic idea how you want. and have a basic "visualiton" for an artist so they can bring it on the next level, and or make it more unice. it is more easy if you can see it in front of you. and this is the best way if you cant draw

Hm... as a game dev that's involved in a lot of character design some of the ones you praise here, no offence to them, Faesamari? It's... really terrible design. While "Fuwawa" is a perfectly great design. There is a reason she is legitimately one of the most drawn characters out there. Juniper would be similar. Contrast is stupidly overrated and kind of a gimmick. You'll learn it as you get your experience in design and the field... Miniature painters used to be OBSESSED with contrast but are stepping away with it because harmony can be a lot nicer than contrast. Also... street wear says a lot more than crazy zaney "unique" outfits because, lets face it,e everyone has one of those and they hardly if ever actually reflect anything in the actor's personality.

A lot of this advice was really cool and interesting! But I feel like the arm length critique is a little awkward. Most real people don't have arms that long- and you don't seem to be considering how clothing like pants and such would look weird if they're crotch tight, so they make the arms appear shorter.

When i saw this video pop up on my recommended I thought; “hey! Why not see what she has to say?!” And i was so not prepared for how much this video would infuriate me. I agree with almost all of the comments here. I cant go into depth about how i even feel about this video but one major thing that annoys me is how you seem to make all these beautiful and creative models “bad” in a certain way to somehow make your model even better which irritates me beyond belief. All the models you showed, yes, have some things that could be changed, but comparing them to your model for almost 90% of the video is totally not okay.

I’ve been wanting to do a humanoid version of my character for a WHILE now. Genuinely don’t know how to go about it though. I don’t want to make my character have a super weird outfit that is hard to draw, but I also don’t want to give him normal, every day clothes. I also feel like “dude with fox ears and tail” is just too forgettable/boring. Not quite sure how to make a unique design that stands out among the crowd while also being visually unique and simple to draw.
