I love this project 😀 Will try to replicate it, at least partly..i have been looking for a classic looking analog guage, to display real time data from my diy heatpump. Of coarse it needs a diplay to monitor the current superheat 😀 Did not find any real guage within my budget, but i think it could be replaced with this type of display.

No matter what you try to do with an Arduino, it always ends up being a weather station.

E ink displays are getting better and better. Now they only need to get cheaper. Also, for my ESP32s, I have fully switched from Arduino/MicroPython to EPHOME. This integrates seamlessly with Home Assistant, which is especially great for sensors.

The code supplied via the link is slightly different to what's in the video. I have the same screen and RTC but using a mega and I get multiple upload errors.

Have the Arduino people fixed the IDE so that it can use COM ports? My Pico disconnects at the outset of the upload with this error: "Cannot Perform port reset: 1200-bps touch: opening port at 1200bps: Invalid serial port"

one point about your current consumption measurements. The LED on the ESP32 board is on, that will draw around 20mA of current by itself. not to mention the minute, but additional losses incurred from running longer leads on the esp32 side, and the addition of the USB-to-TTL converter on the esp32.

WTF, rasberry pico is so much more pricier for idk why with its thumbsized measure then there's this in lesser price

Both are running Py, so the benchmark is solid. I know esp32 can boot instantly when the bootloader is removed, but I don't remember if author specified if he had done that. Sure implementation differs, one is arm and the other is xtensa.

Quick question. The link for the motors say that the motors can handle from 3-6V, but you said yours can handle 3-12V. Are all motors like those capable of handling 12 V as well?
