As a welder, welding sucks, don't matter the process or material.

Hood time is the best you can get all the guys I train at work I show them what to watch for and they let them weld on drive rolls for a few weeks then we do a welding competition most of the time if they listened they weld as good if not better then I do did two today that I couldn’t hardly find any issues on their welds both passed a bend test with flying colors love nothing more then to see guys surpass me in the trades not that I’m the standard but to see guys succeed in a trade I’ve be doing for longer then they have been alive is definitely shortening the learning curve and they can only get better from there I live for others success

Step one.... Work and make money.Don't get into debt live conservative. Build yourself up.Stay away from the nonsense of getting a girlfriend or worse,a wife, that will greedily spend your money on stupid while not contributing to your growth. Every city has a escort service to entertain you on your time off without long term consequences of indenturement with supporting a smug fatty and child support. JUST because everyone else has been programed to fall for that with the same dire results doesn't mean you should. You are the one working so work for yourself first.

What is this debt a month from? Owning a rig? Do welders aiming for work at refineries/plants even need their own rigs?
@masonlocke781710 күн бұрын
Rig payments could be one if they are a contractor, but I think they mean more personal debt. Over leveraging themselves, like high mortgages. $1200 truck payments, always going out to eat, side by sides, boats, etc.

Right, the guy selling a welding program is going to tell you there's a shortage. Fact of the matter is, the only shortage is in the paychecks.
@KentuckyWeldingInstitute16 күн бұрын
Check that website, & there are so many lousy welders out there and companies are having a hard time getting good welders so they’ll pay good for good welders. There’s no shortage of money if your a solid welder 🤣, most the gigs now days are in the $40+, $50 for specialty outfits.

Yep he’s right season welders can get it started both ways. And the truth is in very detailed understanding of welding knowing when you can tap and when you need to strike depending on different variations of the conditions. 👍

Get a PAPR much less hassle and protects you much better than the crappy respirators that don't keep everything out no matter how good the fit is. Unless you wanna shave everyday and waste money on razors get a PAPR.
