I tried this when it first came out. Beat the game once then tried impossible and i was doing good only used plasma cutter fully upgraded armor upgraded. Pimp slapping everything outta my way and got close to the ending until i was walking down a hallway and that bastard connected to a wall off screen completely blindsided me and killed me in one shot Haven't played since I really wanted that foam finger

Is there a good video explanation on how to do most of the glitches and skips you do? I’d like to beat the game on impossible at least once, but the game freaks me out, so I figure if I can speed through portions, skip areas, and never go through another quarantine (after chapter 7) I’ll do it. I can probably study what you do a little bit, but any explanation or forums I can follow for specific advice on the glitches and skips? Like what to do, when and where to do it

If you just want to beat the game on impossible, you don’t really need speedrun strats. There are other ways to abuse game mechanics and bugs. There is the (near) infinite money exploit with the Pulse rifle or the divider enemy. You can return to the menu screen for a brief time after you died and reload the save file (or just back up your save). You can attach the line gun trap to a moveable object and laser all enemies in a room away. If you do all of these, the game actually becomes too easy by the end and you constantly become inventory limited but it might ease you into the Impossible difficulty. Just today I finished my Platinum trophy on PS5 with my Impossible run :)

A little tech i was working on last night is trying to make the pyramid head fight clean. The second phase gets iffy but the first phase i fire 5 shots into PH then the first swing into dodge left +2 swings > dodge his behind slice> dodge the push he does after it> swing twice> dodge second push> swing until he does the overhead attack> swing twice> dodge push> swing > ???? > profit into second phase. Idk what its is but that initial positioning of dodging left after his first initial sword attack sets him up in a pattern

In the earlier part here 49:40 you need to wait near the door for dialogue to start, then wait at 50:30 for the dialogue to finish, otherwise you softlock if i recall. Been a bit since i ran this 😅

This seems to be the current world record from what I can find on KZbin. Most other runs that come close are on normal difficulty

Working on the Platinum and only needing the endings in NG+ your speedrun video was infinitely helpful to quickly navigate through Silent Hill. And yours was the most clear to see what you were doing, where you were going, etc. Huge thanks for a very helpful video!!

I love Prey, but I hate the OoBs in the Any% speedrun, so this was a breath of fresh air. Awesome stuff!
