IMO jpop gets overshadowed by their subgenre anime music internationally which leads to people never really delving past the surface level of anime ops lol. but compared to the past, a lot of studios have been hiring established pop artists (think hoshino gen, vaundy, yosasobi, etc.) for their music compared to when there was a whole subcategory of artists that solely did anime music so its been opening up viewers to jpop artists a little also how the term idol in japan is used in comparison to korea. a lot of kpop fans search up jpop idols expecting something similar to kpop groups not realizing its a completely different genre when the term they should be looking for in jpop is dance & vocal groups.

I have a lot of producer friends who are getting to work in Japan with established Japanese producers and artists so only going things coming in terms of global recognition when it comes to J-POP!

It is the intermediary copyright companies that are slowing down the Japanese music industry's global expansion. Even though these groups existed long before KPOP. There are so many other cool groups out there! What a shame!

what i love about jpop and jrap is, they really do have a love and appreciation for 90’s and early 20’s hiphop and rnb, and it shows when you listen to the music or watch the video, and they do actually still have a lot of japanese artists and groups who do these types of music in today’s modern hiphop/rnb. Even though the sound is old school, it’s still so refreshing and pleasing to the ear to hear considering in today’s music.

With Kpop booming the way it did a lot of the things they get credit for have been being done in Jpop. Jpop kinda keeps itself in its own bubble but with this Group and songs like this we're seeing that Jpop groups are not behind Kpop groups they're just not promoted well. Psychic Fever can be the crossover group this genre needs!

Jpop is afterall, the blueprint for Kpop and asian pop in general. Not only is that Jpop is not promoted well, but there’s also strict copyrights and limited access to japanese music, unlike their counterpart Kpop which have unlimited access.
