You could just do a few obvious "home keys", like the small ridge on F and J for typing. Or change the colour of the material for some of the keys, like on a piano keyboard so you can find them without looking directly at them.

If you took this to a live stage, you could set to a mirror/screen above you angled at the audience so they can see the performance without obstruction and you can put things around/in front of you to help with your performance?

Just do tactile ”flower petals” over the keys. Imagine it. You’ll always know where you are.

What if you used different colors for the different cords?

you could place the 'braille' not on top of the button but below on the cover.

Instead of marking each key, could you have one or two keys marked to know your current position on the board, like f and j on a keyboard?
