This is really a fun project, and I enjoy it with you. Even though they are probably just common stamps, it is nice that you find so many of the stamps he used in his album. Thanks for the video!

It is an excellent and original idea to recreate John Lennon's childhood stamp collection!!! You were very successful in emulating the album pages of the stamp album he used. Impressive! And you got to complete the first page you started with. All in all pretty good. I really liked the voice over. You have a soothing voice, and speaks well. Regardless what you do, I will still watch your videos.

Voiceovers - if someone is watching for the ASMR aspect, they would probably opt for the no-voice version, to get the ASMR vibes. However, I also like your narratives. So I would suggest maybe doing a set of ASMR vids with no voice, alongside a second set of vids with voice narration. So you would have two types of content on your channel, aimed at slightly different sets of people. Some people will watch both... like me :)

What a neat idea! I love your new pages; you captured the feel of the original quite well. Now you just need wait 70 years for the pages to yellow. :) PS - love the voice overs! I'd suggest doing as you please, I'll watch regardless, but I enjoyed the narration very much.

Thanks for another interesting video ! Not surprising, it seems the higher values are missing from many collections. Research would probably find that there were a lot less high value stamps printed, thus their higher value.

Hi. When I started the channel a few months back, I began an album at that point. Every time I make a new video the pages get added, so gradually building a world album just from these.

Hi. No real reason, except I tend to do some general sorting while I go, so I need to see the fronts of the stamps. Like in this video, I place all the QEII stamps together to the right. I've never really thought about which way up they should go. Any views on that?

Another excellent video! These sets have some legitimate high values which are unlikely to ever cross my path. Thanks for the inspiration to focus on the stamp I have! I'm curious, if you get another feeder album that has some of the 'missing' stamps, will you redo the album page? PS - I'd love to watch a video where you flip through your album of completed pages. Even every dozen videos or so to watch your momentum grow as the album fills up! 💖
@stamps151
@stamps151 28 күн бұрын
Not the plan, no. I have obtained some new feeder albums since I started and found some stamps I would have included, if I'd had them at the start - but except for a couple where I laid out my pages with blank spaces for missing ones (Spain comes to mind), I will just consider the page 'done' and leave it there. Otherwise, I may be re-doing them forever!

How many countries do you collect and how many pages for each one, are they older or modern? When folk see or ask about my collections they always ask are they valuable and if not why? They then ask why collect if not worth much, they don't understand the value is in the learning and joy in collecting. I get as much joy if not more than they do going to football matches or other things (I'm not against any hobby), there are some very insular folk about, thanks for your video's.

Hi. Glad you like the videos. My main collection is British Commonwealth up to early 1960s, and also Great Britain Machins, but I have a basic world collection too. What you see in these vids is a self-contained project - trying to find beauty or interest in stamps which might otherwise be overlooked or thrown out. I'm with you on the fun aspect. That's all it is to me. I have no interest in value, and as you'll see in the videos, even flaws don't bother me, so long as the stamp isn't disfigured. You can make them look nice just by giving them some TLC.

i USE A A6 NOTEBOOK AND TWO 18MM THICK PIECES OF PRESSWOOD CUT EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE NOTEBOOK WITH TWO SMALL 50MM G-CLAMPS. PLACING THE DRIED CURLED STAMPS INTO DIFFERENT PAGES .WITH THE WOOD BLOCKS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE NOTEBOOK, I CLAMP THEM FIRMLY FOR ONLY THREE DAYS AND WHEN I REMOVE THEM, THEY LOOK LIKE NEW.

Hi! The design and colours are as beautiful as the Machin series of stamps. As you said they are additionally almost luminescent. Beautiful stamps, and I enjoyed the video. Thanks! ASMR, I don't want to nag, but I think if you added soap to the water, you must wash the stamps afterwards in clean water. I also asked an archivist at our stamp club about using soap and she was not positive about it. She said one should not use something chemical on the stamps. That is from her knowledge and experience, but naturally, I don't think it has been studied. Do you think the soap helps to clean the stamps more than just water?
@stamps151
@stamps151 Ай бұрын
Hi. Thanks for yor interest. Yeah, soap is a bit of an odd one. Someone suggested I give it a try and on some grubby stamps it did seem to lift the dirt out. Probably not needed on these ones as they were fairly good to begin with. Just experimenting really. I wouldn't use it on anything valuable!

1mm difference between the two printings! Talk about a workout for one's eyes to separate 'em.... does each set have a different watermark? I think this is a series often overlooked by many stamp collectors. What brand of hinges are you using? Thanks for another educational philatelic video !

Hi. Thanks for your interest. I'm no expert on Italian watermarks, but my understaning is that Italian stamps all had the winged wheel watermark until about 1955 when it was changed to stars. Thus, the earlier of these two sets which started in 1953 can be found with either. The later set is stars only, as they came out in 1968, after the switch. The hinges I use are standard Prinz ones, in the yellow packets. Nothing fancy :)

You can tell the pre decimal cuz a stamp will state 5D, the old pence schilling, pound, and the 1977-87 oversized parcel post high values , but for the rest they could range from 1970-1993 new decimal. But the Machins are fascinating! 14:28
