I got to visit this beautiful church last Sunday in person. The organ sounded just as it does in this recording. Happy Reformation Day folks. 🥰

This song is so beautiful. Like our victory song as we leave earth and go into parodies, a song to die to.

Thanks for posting this - it just showed up in my feed today. You need an updated video - a new organ was installed in 2014. The back balcony looks different now. I'm the current organist (2021)

The original minor key is quite powerful. I wouldn't mess with it.

Thanks for posting this. I so enjoyed this organ being played so beautifully again. I was a member of this church in the 70"s and 80's. The last time I was there the organ had fallen into disuse and even the beautiful Spanish trumpets were gone.

Thanks for including the lyrics for this joyful canticle of triumphant praise! Nothing like a Revelation hymn to get you praising the Most High God! Beautiful organ accompaniment and it's good to hear a congregation really SING a hymn... DEO GRATIAS! :-)

The lack of trust I have in KZbinrs has led me to fear the moment you started zooming in, automatically assuming there would be a face or something popping out. Hah. Super relaxing, thankfully!

I still love and prefer the liturgy from 1941/3 The Lutheran Hymnal. I wish I could find a recording I can put on my computer.
@usdeutchlandmark91358 жыл бұрын
Some say the 41 hymnal had too many Methodist hymns in it. OK take a few of them out but do not take away this beautiful liturgy. And now we don't get to sing much of it but only the Minister chants and they leave out parts of it. I don't like that. That liturgy of that old Hymnal was the best!
@heidihodgins56946 жыл бұрын
Me too. One night it just popped in my head and I had to look it up to remember all the words. It was the very first part of the liturgy that my mother taught me and I always waited for it so I could sing along
@edwardluth77402 жыл бұрын
I am an old die hard Lutheran who still puts that Old 41 first. Most beautiful liturgy and the men who put that together then were more independent thinkers of Luther and what was really good compared to todays bunch that just made it worse. They don’t know good music!

I've searched high and low on KZbin for a video of This Is The Feast, sung the way it is at my home church, because my college church always uses Service Setting 2. This is the best video I've seen; my search ends here. Thank you so much for shining light into the lonely world of this college student. May God bless you and your congregation richly!

From 1934 LCMS Chinese Mission hymnal “Spiritual Hymns to the Praise of the Lord". The order of these hymns follows the numbers of the original hymnbook originally compiled by Dr. Walther.

Although I was born in Ohio, I have been living in the south for the past 40 yrs. I am a country girl at heart, and the only thing that would have made this better? About 7 hrs. and 59 minutes more of it. THAT is something that will put you to sleep any night of the week. LOVE it!!!

What charming congregational singing! As usual, the one singing the loudest is completely tone-deaf.
@annalisasauter79352 ай бұрын
In fairness, when you're tone-deaf, you kind of have to sing over those next to you in order to hear yourself. It's a sign of insecurity that I totally don't experience every Sunday...

Ahh sounds like home sweet home here in Kentucky on a summer a night. What a shame that the video isn't longer, I would have loved too fall asleep listening to it.
