Could you tell me or pm me how much you charge for these tables. Looking at somewhere around $150. Thank you and I have enjoyed your videos. Are you going to make anymore?
@johnturgesen6515Ай бұрын
Great questions. Charge $150. I once sold 6 at $75 each, and ended up kicking myself. A lot of work for little reward. I usually include these tables in a set. But two chairs, get a table “free”. They get value, I don’t get the haggle. 🤷♂️

How many coats of finish do you put on your chairs?
@johnturgesen65154 ай бұрын
Two coats at a minimum. Exterior grade, oil base, satin finish. That’s what I have landed on. Everyone ends up with their own solutions for wood outside. There is maintenance involved regardless. Hope that helps

Thanks again for your videos. I’ve just broken down two barrels. Lots of small staves, but there are some wide ones as well. Between the two barrels the widest matching pair for arms are about 3.5” wide at the widest. Is that too narrow? What do yours arms range?
@spoonsprojects66497 ай бұрын
General rule of thumb, use what you have, arms wider than front legs, which are wider than back legs. Narrow works if that’s all you have. Hope that helps 🙌
@Oakydokes7 ай бұрын
Thanks, nice to the point video. On this build I noticed on the front brace you attached it differently. Are those carriage bolts and threaded inserts?
@spoonsprojects66497 ай бұрын
Yep, that’s correct. A sturdier hold, but for my purposes, I don’t do it every time. Depends on the look you want to go for

Thank you so much for this video! Quick question, should the barrel be completely dry before using the staves or should I saturate the barrel before disassembling and cutting? Thanks!

I use a spar urethane, oil based, exterior grade, satin finish as my sealing coat. Apply at least 2 coats. I’ve had the best luck with that. I’ve used deck sealer, teak and tung oil, some other stuff, but best results with spar urethane

The longer screws connect the arm to the front leg, and the front leg to the seat. 👍

To fill the holes I bought a plug bit from harbor freight and cut out several plugs from a stave cut off. The grain will go the same direction and you can lightly chisel it to match the height
