K I was thinking about how sometimes you hear about celebrities who lose all their money they have to turn to like p*** or sex work what would happen if someone really managed their money really well and they had to like or they got to choose someone from like the regular populace because they were bored and wanted to do it Connie??😷-MoMEE??

I've been on both sides of the equation. I used to be a nicely slim 135 pounds, I ate my fill of whatever I wanted, I did not exercise and I never gained a pound. Then I quit smoking and I got fat. I gained 140 pounds overnight. I struggled with diets and exercise and I'm here to tell anybody who'll listen to me, they do NOT work. Today I weigh 275 pounds. The weight gain has stopped and I maintain a weight of 275 pounds no matter how much I eat. I'm an expert and authority on obesity and I can unambiguously state, obesity is a disorder of the body with no effective or available remedy.

Obesity is rarely genetic. Obesity is from eating to much energy...what is energy in the body is fat or sugar. Fat is the healthy food while sugar is very dangerous. Stop eating all the junk food and you will find you lose weight...if you don't then you may be one of those people who have a genetic issue. Want to learn the Proper Human Diet like every other animal on this planet has a species specific diet just like us...but ours was messed up by all the chemicals in the food people are eating. Go look up Dr. Anthony Chaffee, Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr. Kiltz, Dr. Ken Berry. They all can introduce you to the Proper Human Diet. Don't fall for the fluff of mainstream media. Million are losing weight and getting relief from all kinds of illness, including Diabetes, HBP, Kidney disease, Liver Disease, Migraines, and mental head issue are even healing. Have cancer issue look up Thomas Seyfried he's stopping cancer. I wouldn't say anything, but I was sent home to die, nothing more the hospital could do for me. I wasn't ready to die. I found theses doctor and started following what they said and here I am 5 yrs later and thriving including even walking again!

Love you all! Thank you for being such an amazing community advocate for all of us! My weight loss journey started in 2016 at 289 lbs and I am finally in maintenance in 2024 at 145 lbs, but never will I forget the road I traveled. I am so inspired to share my weight loss journey with others and would love a part time position in the weight loss industry so I can cheer others on, support them during their journey, and assist them with their goals. I pray that I am given that opportunity one day and until then I will continue to support here and with your organization, as you do good work! Thank you OAC!!!

How much money do you all take from the weight loss industry again (Novo Nordisk, Ely Lilly, etc.)? Please stop trying to pass off your faux weight stigma concern as benevolent and get out of the way so the people who truly have the lived experience to speak on these issues can be the experts.

What proportion of people with eating disorders might also have something else going on, like monogenic obesity, I wonder…?

I don’t have an eating disorder or monogenic obesity, but-in order to do the things that could get me to a reasonable weight-I had to do things like OMAD, back when “skipping meals” was considered the start of an eating disorder.

I am glad you are discussing this because it does seem like there are so many who have suffered so much from the judgment and harshness of expectations from others. And it completely makes sense why so min of this does result in disorders in regards to controlling those aspects that people are often judged so harshly and unfairly for. I was fortunate to grow up with parents and adults in my life who did not believe in shaming or controlling beyond health.

I have metabolic syndrome and am on medications for other health issues that cause weight gain. those things combined with age, I'm 62 have caused a lot of weight gain. As a teen all the way through my forties I was able to stay slim by starving and extreme exercise. anyone else would have been called anorexic but not me. I am 5'9 and big boned so even at a very low weight it never alarmed anyone. As I've aged starving doesn't work anymore and I'm no longer able to run 8 miles a day as I injured my knees. I'm here to attest you can gain weight really easily even if you eat very little and exercise every day. I walked 3 hours a day until I developed arthritis and other knee problems I can't afford to have fixed. life is complicated. everyone is dealt a unique situation. age, sex, economics, health, support systems, etc.

HYPERTENSION, HEART DISEASE, DIABETES, CKD, HIGH CHOLESTEROL AND MANY OTHER DISEASES IS CONSIDERED CRITICAL AND CHRONIC AS OF A RESULT OF OBESITY. Doctors will and do prescribe numerous of meds for those diseases BUT WILL NOT PRESCRIBE THE WEIGHT LOSS INJECTIONS AND MEDS TO HELP TREAT PATIENTS WITH OBESITY (WHICH IS ALSO A DISEASE, AND THE ROOT OF THE OTHER DISEASES). INSURANCE COMPANIES INCLUDING MEDICARE WILL PAY FOR UNLIMITED PRESCRIPTIONS FOR YEARS TO TREAT ALL OTHER DISEASES, EXCEPT OBESITY. IT MAKES NO SENSE. MEDICARE REFUSES TO PAID FOR THE WEIGHT LOSS INJECTIONS AT ALL. WHY???

There is a bill right now in the house to get obesity listed as a chronic condition. Contact your insurance company and ask them about the health related services that are offered. Free gym membership, PT, OT, pain management doctor are covered. Start there. Then go to your city where free health support and education is indeed offered each month. All the best !
